Really nice cottage, well appointed. Within easy reach of the shore, but the busy road was just too close - a little noisy. The view from the rear of the coattage was stunning. The local villages were great - shops, places to eat aplenty. And Toni and Martan could not have been more attentive and helpful hosts when we needed them, and invisible when we didn't.

The cottage was fine, clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and did everything to help our stay including freshly made bread on arrival. The local village had all we needed with two supermarkets, several pubs. All within about a 15 minute walk of the cottage or a few minutes in the car.

This was our first stay at this character property but we are very familiar with the area. It is in an excellent location with a 15 minute walk to Spideal for restaurants and bars. There is also access to a rocky coastline that constituted the morning walk with our dog. The cottage itself is terrific. We only needed to use downstairs area and quickly appreciated its scale and layout. The bathroom has been renovated to a high standard and the bedroom enormously comfortable. The main living space while compact is very useable and cosy when the peat fire was lit at night. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'd need on holiday. Martan and Toni, the owners could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We were supplied with a load of peat which Martan replenished when needed. The view across Galway Bay is lovely, really quite special. In summary this is an excellent property run by people who are kind and make you feel right at home. Now that we've found the sean teacht we fully intend to return asap. Thoroughly recommended. By us and by Aine our dog!

An absolutely gorgeous traditional family cottage in an idyllic setting. The views of the Arran Islands are stunning even when they're shrouded in mist and seem to disappear. Love An Spidael, love the cottage and love Martan and Toni who couldn't have been more helpful - thanks so much for the bread, butter and jam and the Barry's - so welcome after a horrible journey :-)

Clean, comfortable cottage with friendly, helpful owners. Good base for exploring the west coast of Ireland. Owners went above and beyond in providing information about local area and ferries to Aran Islands. Stayed with 3 teenage daughters who all said they could have stayed an extra week.

The cottage was in a convenient location for attending a festival in Spiddal. It was a 15 minute walk into the village where there are pubs and restaurants as well as a corner store. It was cosy and had everything we needed for the week. It has storage heaters as well as a turf fire. Whilst the cottage sleeps 6 it was ideal for 2 of us as the living area is cosy and the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are very steep.
