Former coaching house with spiral staircase, close by is a pleasure pier, beaches, parks, coastal walks and championship golf courses.

This comfortable, former coaching house, set to the rear of the owner’s impressive Victorian house, dates back to 1890. Sympathetically renovated, it retains original features and is just 15 minutes’ stroll from Lord Street. Well placed for all that this striking Victorian seaside town has to offer, including the second longest seaside pleasure pier in Great Britain. With beaches, impressive parks and miles of coastal walks it is a great place to relax. The area offers shopping, restaurants and nightlife as well as championship golf courses. Southport train station is a 15 minute walk away, or 5 minutes by car, and provides easy access to Liverpool (approximately 30 mins), with all its museums, theatres, shopping, Liverpool One, Albert Dock and other attractions too numerous to mention. Trains also operate to the historic city of Chester (approximately 1 hour) and bustling city of Manchester (approximately 1¼ hours). Beach 2 miles. Shop and pub 440 yards, restaurant 880 yards.

Ground floor: Dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom with additional single. Separate toilet. Steep, spiral stairs to first floor: Living room with pool table. 1 twin bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, toilet.

Gas central heating included (£50per week, £30 per short break October-March). Electricity, bed linen, towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Two Freeview TVs. DVD. CD. Electric hob. Electric oven. Combi microwave/oven/grill. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Lawned garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. No smoking. very unusual holiday home, extremely large and very private setting, very lovingly restored by the owner and his family would definately recommend but make sure you are aware of all details ie if you don't/can't manage spiral staircase then its not for you Didn't release all that Southport has to offer

Overall the cottage was very good, the kitchen and dining room were dark with little natural daylight, the lights were inadequate for the size of the rooms, especially the kitchen as you have to cook. The bedroom down stairs was very spacious, but personally it would have been better upstairs and the lounge (upstairs) downstairs with maybe french doors so you can enjoy the garden in the evening, I found the spiral stairs very difficult, and having to go up and down for drink or snacks whilst watching TV was inconvenient. The facilities were very good, everything you needed was there, and it was nice and clean.

Had a lovely holiday at the coach house a very quirky property. Everyone enjoyed the pool table and games console.

The coach house is an unique property. We found it an ideal base for Southport / Birkdale and the surrounding areas. The train station is an easy 15 minute walk and there are regular trains which are cheap in comparison to our usual network. It wasn't a negative for us but the spiral staircase could be problematic for elderly / disabled.
