Absolutely amazing. Few little welcome goodies left was a nice touch. Place is brilliant, cannot fault it. Has everything you need from a usability perspective. Quiet area in walking distance of beautiful moorland. Next door to owners but with all the privacy of your own home.

The cottage and the owner were a delight. The cottage was so well finished and equipped that it felt more like staying at a home than a holiday rental. It was very well suited to dogs with wooden floors downstairs and a good sized balcony, not to mention the hosepipe at the bottom of the entrance stairway. Cotton linen, feather duvets, a choice of feather or synthetic pillows and good towels were a plus too. We are lucky enough to live in a very quiet, rural location: this felt like a home from home. Beautifully peaceful. I had reservations when booking about the lack of garden, but the dogs were happy with a quick trip down the lane when necessary and we spent all day walking so there were no complaints from our canine companions. There is a wonderful, traditional Devon pub a ten minute walk away and we didn't feel like we had to drive anywhere. Coincidentally we did find that all of our walks seemed to end at the pub. A map of Dartmoor was useful; there is free roaming on Dartmoor so you can just wander without the need for a walking book. There is also very helpfully a map provided on the wall of the cottage. The shower room is compact but so cleverly designed that it was not a problem. I had concerns about previous comments regarding space, especially as we are a tall family, but we will definitely return. We came home much more rested than we would normally expect after a week off. Thanks Mel!

Lovely few days, chance to spend time with our son and family. Snow meant it was difficult to leave due to hill at top of the lane but we got out eventually. Nice walk to reservoir.

Well, this was an amazing place to stay, absolutely lovely, the accommodation is second to none, everything you need is there. A fantastic renovation which is a pleasure to stay, the eggs, milk, bread and marmalade which greeted us is a lovely touch. Very highly recommended and hopes to be back soon.

Very lovely cottage, quiet and extremely tasteful furniture/equipment. Weather conditions don't matter here because it is just as nice and relaxing to stay in and enjoy being in the cottage. Very friendly and helpful owners as well. We will be back.

Fantastic stay at this beautifully decorated converted barn, home from home and touches of luxury. Nearby pub 10 minutes walk and close to the moors and other fabulous walks enjoyed by all the family. Would recommend to all and would love to return. Mel the owner is on hand if needed and has hand made some of the finishing touches.

I have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable week in this lovely cottage with my partner and two dogs. The cottage had everything we needed. The open plan layout meant plenty of space for us all, and although the shower room is small, it was perfectly serviceable. The owners have put a lot of thought into the decoration, right down to the beautiful artwork on the walls. The place was spotless and very warm. The private balcony meant that we did not miss having a garden for the dogs and with long daily walks on the beautiful moorland, they spent most of their indoor time flat out in front of the log burner (logs are included). The cottage is ideally situated for a walking holiday, a stone's throw from Burrator Reservoir, so there isn't any need to get in your car, unless you wish to explore further afield. Without hesitation we would stay here again. Sara, Bailey, Roxy & Georgie
