A nice little cottage in a good location, however, we felt it didn't warrant the five star status. The cleanliness was quite poor, in fact it looked liked it hadn't been cleaned since the last holidaymakers had left, there were dead flies on the carpets and remnants of food/crumbs on the kitchen work surfaces. The kitchen cupboards hadn't seen a wet cloth for many months! The bathroom was also in need of a thorough clean and the towels were worn and not overly clean! Maybe we were unlucky and visited whilst the cleaner had been on holiday but a five star property should be meticulously cleaned and sadly it hadn't.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am deeply devastated and hurt by the review you have left on the Reevoo website. In response I would like to point out that the cottage is cleaned to a very high standard and personally inspected by myself and I do ensure that the cottage is presented in a first class condition for our incoming guests, I certainly did not notice any of the issues you have mentioned. I would also like to mention that the five previous occupants before your stay scored 4 x 10’s for cleanliness and 1 x 9 making a score of 49 out of 50, and the standard of cleanliness for your visit was no different. I am very disappointed that you did not mention any of these issues when we spoke or upon your departure as it is of paramount importance to me that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay with us. Over the last eight years with English Country Cottages we have attained a 9.3 score for cleanliness and a 9 for overall customer satisfaction which we are very proud of. We do have numerous customers who repeat book with us.

We enjoyed our stay and our hosts were very welcoming. The location was ideal for us. The village is pleasant and has two nice pubs. There seems to be a chip shop and a village shop. However, we never saw the chip shop open and we couldn't find the village shop at all. There again, we were out all day and didn't look too hard. We felt that the pots and pans could have been larger for four people but it was nice to have sharp knives to use.

Great lodge in a great location, plenty to see within a 30 minute drive. The lodge itself was very clean and well maitained, nice big kitchen, cosy living room with patio doors to stunning garden.Upstairs has two large bedrooms and a great bathroom, one of the bedrooms has a balcony you can sit out on with a view of the garden.WiFi wasnt the quickest but worked fine, the tv in living room needs an upgrade though.Dave the owner was an excellent host and we had shared use of the tennis court and pool which are within the grounds near the owners home.Would love to return at some point in the future.

South lodge is a very nice place to stay. It is without doubt a 5 Star accommodation and this is reflected in the price. That aside you will not be disappointed once you arrive. There swimming pool is very nice and there is a Tennis court and Croquet lawn all on site. There are plenty of walks direct from the property. Although it is a dog friendly property it is not secure. There are two drives into the property and neither of them are gated. There are two secure paddocks to excerside you dog off the lead which are secure.

Lovely place, idea for those of us with pets with having use of fields to let them run. Needs better TV all round! This was thought to be poor. Internet router had either a problem or wasn't working well. This was thought to be poor. The reason why the two comments was looked upon as poor is because these are deemed to be basic requirements and in this type of accommodation I'd of hopes for high quiality not min.

Excellent property, a 9 rather than 10 as WiFi was very slow, there again it is a rural location
