We love Sophie’s Barn. The perfect retreat, away from the madness of working life. Perfect!

Cottage was lovely and perfect for us and our dog Holly - could do with a few more home comforts, washing machine and dishwasher (just to be really on holiday). Very quirky with the spiral staircase to one of the bedrooms. Also could do with a bit of explanation about recycling. The only reason we would not stay here again is we never stay in the same place twice there is so much of our beautiful country to see we normally always go somewhere different. Good enclosed gardens.

The views are fantastic, the hosts are great. The town is about 3 miles away mainly down a single track road, but we rarely met anything coming the other way. By the end of the week the barn had a real homely feel about it. We lit a fire a couple of times, enjoyed cosying up together as a family. The barn itself could do with a bit of tlc inside, dusty areas. The beds were clean and comfortable. Other reviews have noted about the oven being old, this is true, but it is functional. We took the opportunity to eat out more, we were on holiday. Overall a good place to stay, if we were asked to go back, we would.

We had a great time in Sophies Barn. The cottage has a scenic view over the beautiful landscape and is tranquil situated. The owners are very friendly. If we visit Wales again, we would certainly stay here for a second time!

Not up to expected standard. Grubby cooking utensils, poor bathroom facilities( only one toilet roll provided, very slow running drains) No welcome pack ( other farm stays we have stayed at provided milk coffee tea and biscuits or cake on arrival) Owners left on holidays the second day of our stay

Treated my girlfriend to birthday surprise weekend away at this amazing hideaway and although we have a rule on never staying at the same place twice, we both agreed that we would stay at Sophies Barn again. The scenary is beautiful, the owners were very friendly and there's that much to see within an hours drive. We went to Rhayaedar Dam for the day then spent the night by the cosy log fire, eating steak and drinking Cava :) The cooker, yes, is a little outdated but this is honestly the only fault we could pick. Wouldn't hesitate to go again!
