Upon arrival the owner was very friendly and showed us around the property, answering any questions we had. The cottage was beautifully clean, spacious, warm and full of character. Everything we needed was provided and it was lovely to find milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival. Smithy Farm is situated on a quiet village road but just 1 min from the main road meaning you could get around really easily. The local Chinese is lovely and deliver promptly and the local pub grub was excellent value for money. Didn’t want our holiday to end and will definitely be returning to Smithy Farm in the future!

A lovely weekend stay in a characterful and spacious cottage. Plenty of room for everyone, nice and clean. Milk, biscuits, tea bags provided & a cupboard full of condiments etc you might have forgotten! A nice touch by the host who was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely charming little cottage with an amazing modern hot tub which is under cover so handy in the winter months as you can still use it when it rains. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need to cook with. We booked an Asda delivery and it arrived no problems at all. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner and she’s always on hand should you need her. We’ve visited few hot tub cottages and this is definitely our favourite.

Well equipped farmhouse. Great facilities with there being a hot tub, pool table and tv for entertainment. Owner very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. She is always on hand to help if need be and responds quickly.Ideally located for exploring the Chester area and lots of nice eating places nearby to suit all ages and budgets. Like others have said in their reviews the accommodation itself is in need of an upgrade and we found it to be quite dusty and could have been a bit cleaner in places. However as we were using it as a base this did not affect our enjoyment.

The cottage was fantastic; great location, a pub that serves food less than half a mile away, and only a 10 minute taxi ride into Chester centre. I spent the wweekend here with my partner and friends for 2 nights, and our children and in laws for the final night. The weekend was perfect! Most of Saturday was spent in the hot tub which is amazing! I will definitely be visiting again x

Beautiful place to stay. 7 of us stayed last week and had the most amazing time. Rooms were very comfortable and nice touch having a pool table there. Vicky was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble for her. Looking forward to going back again.

The location is top class, our host 100 % despite being poorly. Small things spoilt the overall ambience of this cottage, bathroom in need of revamp, kitchen in need of new utensils and cooking facilities again revamp. Child friendly I would say not.... Did we enjoy our stay yes.

We had a long weekend break to celebrate Mums 80th Birthday. The cottage was in a perfect location for us being a ten minute drive from Chester. The cottage its self is in a quiet village with little traffic. We were with permission of the owners able to invite family to celebrate the 80th birthday . Lovely quirkie cottage on different levels will definately go back sometime. Thanks to Vickki.

We had a lovely family stay at Smithy Cottage. Everything was clean and comfortable - ideal for a mixed age group family. The hot tub was brilliant and the location ideal to get to lots of local attractions. The only downside was the wifi which came and went rather - though this did have advantages at times to escape too much Peppa Pig on the ipad!

As a group of ladies looking for a weekend away relaxing and having a bit of fun, Smithy farm was ideal. Everything about the cottage was perfect, and Vicky was so helpful and accommodating. The hot tub was amazing, and the local hornsmill gastropub was some of the best food and service we have had in a long time. Fabulous weekend, will without doubt be booking again.
