The sofas are in need of being replaced. Rather lumpy. You could tell it was end of the season. Quite a few cobwebs and dust around the property.

Very relaxing break in a beautifully furnished, cosy, comfortable cottage, with pleasant sea views. Only downside was the relatively long, bumpy track to get there from the main road.

Great place to go for a relaxing holiday but no wifi caused a Bit of a problem for us. Beautiful cottage with spectacular views.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your feedback. We have taken on board your comments and have now had Wi-Fi installed at the property. The track is all part of the charm of the cottage and location is what makes the property nice and remote.

A beautiful cottage inside and out. Really spacious and comfortable. Every room has been carefully decorated and elegantly furnished. The en-suite bathrooms a real luxury. Would have preferred to have a door to the en suite in the double bedroom and between the kitchen and living room - the Rayburn is quite noisy when it fires up. Keen cooks in our party had a few grumbles about the lack of knife sharpener and kitchen scales but otherwise well equipped. Plenty of logs provided for the log burner so we were snug despite the freezing December winds outside. Bright sunny and dry though so no complaints about the weather for our stay. Lovely views out to sea and countryside from every window and a short walk - if a bit steep at the end - down to the rocky shore where we watched seals bobbing about in the waves. The track from the farm to the cottage is very rough but only for that short distance. We found it a bit hard to identify which cottage was Smiddy when we arrived in the dark - a house name plate would help. Short hop (in the car) to a nice sandy beach and wooded walk at Pease Bay and to Dunbar which has an old fashioned high street packed with interesting and useful shops. We had a really lovely weekend at Smiddy and hope to return in the near future for a longer stay.
