Description

In 6-acres of woodland, ideal for nature lovers, with badgers, deer and birds regularly seen, and a network of footpaths through the woods.

Slowpool is a detached period property which has been extended to provide spacious accommodation for a large family or friends - who want to holiday together or have a special occasion to celebrate. It occupies a very rural setting at the end of a track in a 6-acre wood, 3 miles south of Honiton. The wood is a haven for wildlife with regular sighting of badgers, deer and an abundance of birds. There is a network of footpaths in the woods for guests to use at their leisure. The coast of Sidmouth is a mere 20-minute drive.
This is a superb house with total privacy; it has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard and boasts three wood-burning stoves, together with many original features and even a hot tub. For walkers and bird-watchers, this really is the most suitable accommodation. There are so many walks to enjoy from the front door.
Many activities are available in the area including golf, fishing, horse riding and sailing. There are also numerous NT properties - all within a short drive. Exmouth is close by and has lovely 2-mile stretch of beach and was once home to the wives of Nelson and Byron respectively, whilst a bit further on lies the genteel town of Budleigh Salterton with its white-washed and thatched cottages which attracted such visitors as Noel Coward and PG Wodehouse. At Exeter, the South West Coastal Path Park is an ideal family day out. Exmoor National Park is also worth a visit, with its rugged landscape and ponies. Shops and pubs 3 miles.

Had a fabulous time with my family at slowpool. Everyone loved it here, lots to do for the children nearby. The donkey and minature pony sanctuary is a must! Also beer was a fab town to have a walk round with all the family. Would definitely love to go back again. House was amazing and in a beautiful setting. Didn't see any dear tho which was a shame as the children really wanted to see one. Had a slight issue with the wifi and the hot tub but they were swiftly sorted out. Fantastic holiday.

Beautiful home in a lovely setting.Had a fabulous holiday meeting family. The miniature roads were a bit daunting at first but soon became used to them!Tiny niggles of no dishcloth/baking trays, mixing bowls/ extra loo rolls and kitchen soap would change overall score to 10/10 as difficult to nip out and buy these-no nearby shops.Would definitely recommend and love to return.
