There is a clifftop walk taking in spectacular views on the way to the bustling fishing port of Eyemouth. Burnmouth lies close to the many attractions this beautiful area has to offer; visit Berwick-upon-Tweed and Holy Island with Lindisfarne Castle on this glorious coastline. Further inland there are the historical border towns of Jedburgh, Kelso and Coldstream under the Cheviot Hills all well worth a visit. There is a local pub on the outskirts of the village serving food, and shopping for everyday needs can be done in Eyemouth or Berwick-upon-Tweed. Access by single track road. Sandy beach 2 miles. Shoreline Cottage is without a doubt the best cottage that we have stayed in over the last 20 years or so and Heather and John the owners are a really lovely couple who work very hard to keep their cottage in pristine condition. On returning home the following weekend we promptly re-booked it again for the following October so really that shows how wonderful this place is. The welcome pack was a wonderful surprise with fresh flowers, chocolates, milk, tea, coffee and shortbread and a few other little gems. John and Heather have a wealth of knowledge of the local area and the exciting wee road to approach this property the correct way is really amazing and by using low gear is not a problem in either direction. Seeing the local fishing boats sailing in and out of the harbour is a real bonus as is the variety of sea birds that make this harbour their home. We had perfect weather for our visit with high temperatures most days and some of the dawns were really spectacular to say the least. We look forward to doing it all again at our home from home, Shoreline Cottage.

Lovely cottage in idyllic surroundings. Warm welcome by the owners who live next door. Very well equipped and cosy cottage. An informal one-way system operates to access the harbour side from the main road - both roads down are very steep (1st gear up and down to anyone with an ounce of sense!) and a very tight bend at each end to access the harbour. But don't let this put you off - it really is worth it to stay here! My only gripe - being over 6 feet - is a tendency to bang my head on the roof beams in the bathroom whilst using the washbasin. But this is a minor whinge when compared to all the plus points. Go and see!!
