Shore Cottage is cosy and comfortable. The view from the front is lovely and looking out the back kitchen window right up the cliff is pretty impressive too! The cottage was very clean and we wanted for nothing. The owner is very friendly and helpful, as are the locals who live in the tiny village. (We were invited to a bbq, but unfortunately already had theatre tickets for that evening in Tain!) Portmahomack is about a 25 min walk (less if you are younger!!) and there we found the local shop and PO and a couple of cafes, not always open and only the Caledonian House, overlooking the beach, allowed us to take our dog in. The owner there is delightful and the food delicious. There is plenty to see in the area, not forgetting the fascinating history of the monastery. It was a lovely, peaceful holiday.

Myself and Bonnie, my black lab, had a very relaxing break at Shore Cottage. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed walking the coastal paths and visited Portmahomack most days for my newspaper and Bonnie's swim in the sea and walk along the beach, it was never easy getting her to leave! The people we met were so friendly, we would definately love to go back sometime.

Super little cottage right by the sea in a quiet hamlet. For peace, quiet and walks - excellent! For the high life - forget it!
