Cumbrian Cottages

The Cumbrian Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Cumbria better!

Description

Traditional cottage retreat right on the beach at Silverdale enjoying fine views across the sea to the Lakeland Fells beyond.

Beach side cottages always prove a popular choice with our guests in the south Lakes so when we had the opportunity to market a seaside retreat in Silverdale, we thought well, why not? Although not strictly Cumbria, this delightful seaside village is only a few miles from Kendal and a mere 20 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale making it an ideal base for exploring no less than three counties in one trip. An area of outstanding natural beauty, nature lovers will revel in the flora and fauna of the area as well as some excellent walking, a fabulous beach and wonderful views of the Lakeland Fells and Morecambe Bay.
The cottage is very traditional, the open fire ideal for gathering around on cooler evenings. The rooms to the front of the house have panoramic sea views and being so very close to the beach, you can watch the younger ones from the front porch. So, bring the kids, bring your walking boots and bring the dog!

Great location, we did say in the comments book we would prefer a Dishwasher as to a Washer.

Beautiful cottage, in a beautiful location. It was a home from home and we loved it.

This break away from all the hustle and bustle of city life was extremely relaxing. Perfect as a dog owner too for walks and dog friendly pubs locally. Every day the views changed as the tides swept in and out. Excellent holiday which was our honeymoon too, what a start to married life, we only wish we where staying there to live. Great cottage in lovely location. Handy for the village facilities and access to a wide variety of interesting locations.

Really disappointed with the cleanliness. Double bed linen smelt of stale sweat. Upstairs carpet was stained and the edges were black with dust as if it hadn't been hovered for years. Inside the drawers in the bedroom were dirty.Loose covers on the furniture needed a wash. The surfaces and crockery in the kitchen weren't clean etc. Overall it was like staying in amongst student grime rather than a house prepared for a holiday let.

Lack of parking space (very tight). Awful permanent residents that moan about holiday makers and their cars, very inhospitable.

This cottage was perfect setting, lounge could do with bit of refurb, but it was fine
