Had a lovely week in Shingle Cottage with 4 female friends. The only thing we would change is the lack of wifi.

Spacious with fab views & location.Could do with some modernisation, although equipment did the job-washer,dryer, dishwasher etc. Great place for a family or couples wanting to get outdoors. Plenty to do even if raining.

Wonderful view's and stunningly beautiful beach walks from the front door of this spacious cottage. The week was comfortable and trouble free with all you need for a home from home. The coastal rail system was marvellous with no need to drive all week the nearby shops were well stocked but not exactly morrisons. The overall stay was one of peace and tranquillity with the added bonus of being very dog friendly especially the beach. The local people were also friendly.

Small bedroom is very small, otherwise an excellent location. We used the garage to store kayaks which was convenient. The views of the sea and isle of man are excellent. Not worth using the front drive as the neighbours block it as a through route. Nice village, good take-aways, handy for Wasdale and Ennerdale and St. Bees.

A surprisingly spacious and well appointed cottage, the picture of the front of Shingle Cottage, as usually portrayed, does it no credit whatsoever! Beautifully located for long walks along the lovely beach at Seascale and also for exploring The Cumbrian Coast and Western Lakes. Shingle Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped for all seasons. Only two minor issues, the bathroom could do with an upgrade! Also, pay attention to the parking instructions the owners have provided so as not to offend the "neighbours"! Seascale has average facilities. A good shop just down from Shingle Cottage, a hotel, open to non-residents almost next door plus other hotels in the village also available for dining etc. There is a Chinese Takeaway, Kebab & Pizza shop, but alas the local chippy appeared to be shut up for good! We would return to Shingle Cottage and Seascale.

I stayed there with my husband and two dogs. The weather was mixed but when it was windy and rainy the cottage was really cosy.
