Had a problem getting in to the cottage as the owner didn't forward updated instructions - the intro sheet said he would meet us there - in fact there is a key safe. The place itself is very nice inside, fairly well equipped and clean through out. One thing we did notice is that every other place we have been to has had a collection of DVDs - there were none here - we tend to buy cheap ones and add these to the collection when we leave, obviously the owner has no obligation for this but its always a nice touch. Kent is a surprisingly interesting place to stay, plenty of nice towns and coastal locations within a short drive.

Negatives - Beds and uncomfortable with old mattresses. Shower water pressure is not great and cleanliness should be improved. High charge rate and did expect more quality in the furnishings. Positives - Good location. Good pub next door.

Well equipped and presented holiday cottage. Lovely garden and very secure for dogs. Ideally located for walks on the Downs or trips to the coast. Lots of dog friendly pubs nearby including the Plough & Harrow two doors away. Very nice welcome basket and would certainly stay again.

A lovely cottage with a relaxing and homely feel. The garden is a joy especially with the summerhouse so you can sit and look over the garden even on a chilly day. I had my dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, with me and it was perfect for him to be able to just wander out into the garden from the kitchen. The bedrooms are stylish and all of a good size, even the single room. The owner could not have been more helpful and was only a phone call away if you needed any help. Lunch or dinner could be had from the Plough and Harrow PH only a few yards away. Easy access to both M2 and M20 is a bonus. All round I found it perfect.

Shillinghurts cottage was really good and the welcome pack was a really nice touch my daughter and family had a great week there just a shame about the bad weather we couldn't get the use of the great garden. My teenage grandsons loved the spooky dining room downstairs we had great nights playing board games there. All and All a great place to stay.
