Response on behalf of the Owner; I am sorry you consider the decor to be outdated. The website page covering our Sheraton Apartment includes ten recent untouched internal photos which, when enlarged, clearly show the nature and style of its decor and furnishings (including the T.V.). The details on the website state ‘Shared (i.e. not a specific part of that apartment) laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier’. Regarding cooking facilities, an 11.5 inch diameter frying pan was available in a kitchen cupboard, along with three lidded and one un-lidded saucepans, as well as a perfectly adequate quantity of food preparation equipment such as mixing bowls, sharp and serrated knives, colander, grater, scissors, tongs, sieve, corkscrew, tin opener, shopping boards, measuring jug, etc. Again, as we provide in all our apartments a four-ring gas hob, standard sized electric oven / grill, electric slow cooker, microwave oven, toaster, cafetiere, ground coffee maker and toaster; we feel the kitchen is well equipped. Interestingly, earlier reviews have specifically praised our equipment provision standards. On arrival you were told we live on site and that you should ring our apartment door bell to let us know of any problems. It is a shame you did not raise these concerns during your stay, as we would have done our best to resolve them immediately.
As a gesture towards environmental conservation, our apartment light switches bear a printed reminder asking our visitors to extinguish unused lighting. This matter is normally understood and accepted, as are our politely expressed requests that, prior to departure, all rubbish and recyclables are taken to the containers outside, that any moved items of furniture are returned to their original positions, that all cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils are returned to their allotted cupboards and drawers in a clean condition, and that any major spillages are attended to. These requests are simply made in accordance with the meaning of the Cottages 4 You conditions of hire, Section 14 which state that guests must leave the property as they find it.
Given your stated experience with self-catering accommodation, I would have thought that you would be aware that any form of personal arrival greeting is by no means always assured at other holiday properties.
I do hope that this response clarifies matters, and indicates our perspective of the issues you have raised.
