A footpath directly behind the cottage leads into the village of Chipping Campden, a 10-minute stroll. Perfect for an indulgent romantic break, Chipping Campden is one of the jewels amongst the Cotswold villages and offers an excellent choice of restaurants and inns using local produce, as well as a renowned music festival every May. Beautiful cosy cottage, spent the week before Christmas there which made it even more perfect, frost outside with the log burner on was lovely, really clean and internet kept the kids happy, regarding the hot water I thought it was ok, get a nice hot bath then put the immersion on for 30 mins and it's ready for another bath, no problem, village is nice and only 20 mins to Lower slaughter and Stow on the wold, the Hosts are really nice, had a lovely welcome pack and chocolate Santas for the kids, would definitely stay again, perfect for exploring the Cotswolds.

The cottage was lovely. But there was some issues not enough hot water to have bath, really looking forward to having a bath but not enough hot water. The cottage is tired and it is not luxury cottage, the floor tiles in the bathroom are coming up. Just needs a re-decoration and then it would a make a difference. Also parking - we parked at Campden Gate - owners of Campden Gate arrived on the Wednesday and then they parked where we supposed to park . The owners should give a proper parking place just for Shepherds cottage. Owner came around to see us, which we did not want to see them as we did book through an agent. We did ask at the time if owners were next door and was told they lived in London. Just felt it invaded our privacy.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Parking in Cotswold villages is often a problem but Shepherds Cottage is lucky in that it has adjacent parking. On one occasion you had to park on the left rather than the right hand side of the driveway. We cannot understand why this was a problem. There is always a parking space. As for our “coming round” we merely enquired once whether everything was satisfactory which we do when we are there. We had no other contact and we should emphasise that the cottage and its walled garden are entirely self-contained and separate from the house. As for the decor and decoration, clearly everyone’s taste is different - the cottage is deliberately decorated in a traditional style including many antiques but is also equipped with luxury bedding. Any faults in the cottage are promptly dealt with and the cottage is closed for 2 weeks each January to redecorate. We always try to present it in a pristine condition. During February 2018, a new hot water system was added to the property, increasing the water capacity by 80%.

Great cottage, great location. Flowing fields one side of gate, a great pub (Bakers arms) the other side of parking

The cottage is well appointed and exceptionally clean. A high quality welcome pack awaited our arrival. The kitchen needs two extra chairs, as the existing seating arrangement is suitable for two persons, three at a squeeze, only. The living room is rather gloomy, even in summer, when the sun is shining. A dryer for the clothes, which cannot be dried in the washing machine, would complement the existing inventory. Otherwise we were very pleased with the accommodation. The "Bakers Arms" just around the corner serves good basic food. The Cotswolds is very beautiful and the main attractions are within easy reach by car. There is plenty of walking in the surrounding countryside behind the cottage. The only downside: The footpath goes by the cottage and the gate leading to the field behind has a weight attached and this bangs loudly against the frame, which reverberates through the cottage itself.

Lovely cottage in a central position for sightseeing. Clean and well equipped. Walks from the door able to walk to Chipping Campden. Bit difficult to find and parking you have to walk down an alley to access the cottage and the cottage is on a busy public pathway. Very nice welcome pack. Would visit again in the summer I think in the winter the cottage could be a bit dark. And I wouldn't want to pay for electric I think it should be included for the price you pay.

We love Shepherds Cottage. It was perfect. Neat, clean, cozy, well equiped and nicely located in the small village. Nice walk to Chipping Campden and easy walk to the Bakers Arms Pub. I highly recommend it. Helena and Leigh are great hosts!

We had a fabulous weeks stay in this beautiful cottage. The location is amazing with the pub only a short stroll away. The cottage is full of charm and character and the garden was a real sun trap! So much to explore only a short car journey away, all of the local towns/villages did not disappoint! Chipping Camden is only a 1mile walk and has fabulous shops and restaurants, we recommend Huxleys and visited most days for coffee, lunch and of course a glass or two of fizz! The cottage was great for our early summer break but would also imagine it being fantastic as a winter retreat also due to the log burner!! We will be returning this year and also again next year for 2 weeks as we found a week too short to really benefit from the stay.

It was perfect, very cosy and quiet, a lovely walled garden to enjoy sitting in the sun. Perfect kitchen, bathroom and beds. Well equipped and very dog friendly. A short walk to nearby town of Chipping Campden through the fields, and easy walking (often off the leads) with the dogs. We stayed for 5 weeks and had a great time. There is a lot to see and and the cottage is very well situated in the North of the Cotswolds. Broad Campden itself is a picturesque village with lovely church, perfect. Nearby also good shops (Chipping Campden and Broadway), and golfclub. We will certainly book the cottage again in the future.
