Just returned from a very enjoyable week at Serendipity with family and dog. Lovely cottage in peaceful village, lots of good walks in beautiful scenery nearby. Also took the short drive down to the coast to dog friendly beach, watched a game of polo at Cowdray park and took the Watercress Line steam train. All dog friendly, as are many local pubs and restaurants. My only suggestions for improving the cottage would be to get some thinner summer duvets and invest in some new pillows ... but these all minor points weighed up against all the positives. Would definitely recommend.

A very clean, comfortable cottage in a very peaceful village setting. The cottage is very well furnished a modern well equiped kitchen and very comfortable lounge / diner with big comfy sofas and a nice big dining table and patio doors onto a lovely garden. The bedrooms are bright and clean with very comfortable beds. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer should you need it and a downstairs loo. The lane outside the cottage is very narrow where you can park but I parked a very short distance away on the edge of the green. The village is very quiet the green is just behind the cottage with a small children's play area. There are plenty of public footpaths around with some very pretty walks. There is a cricket pitch with pavilion and a bowling club. Stedham polo ground is only a stones throw away.

The house was well located and in perfect order. The garden was well maintained as well and information about the local area were available. The only thing that could be improved is the equipment in the kitchen. More pans, saucepans, cooking dishes would be useful. All in all we had a lovely time and will happily come back.

This comfortable cottage was well equiped in a peaceful and beautiful location. It was ideal for all our family. My husband enjoys parking in difficult narrow places but there is plenty of space to park at the Green as prefered by a nephew coming to dinner one evening.

Serendity Cottage is a beautiful old building and we were looking forward to our stay. We have rented several holiday cottages in recent years and unfortunately we found this one rather disappointing. There were three main things. Firstly, the kitchen has very limited equipment. It lacked a potato-masher, grater, mixing bowls and weighing scales among other things. Most cottages we've rented have this type of equipment and without it I was unable to make the special meal I had planned. Secondly, we were supplied with only a handful of kindling and logs for the log burner. Again, we have found that other cottages are more generous with their supplies. Thirdly, the bathroom is somewhat dated and could do with modernisation.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry that you were not entirely satisfied with the cottage, and disappointed that you have given us such a poor score. No-one else has complained about a lack of equipment. We have tried to make sure that most day-to-day vessels are available. We shall however take note of your comments and put that right. When you telephoned us to ask about wood on the evening of your arrival, we told you that there was a further supply in the shed (the key of which is provided), and where you can purchase more. When we checked upon your departure, there was indeed a full spare bag of wood in the shed. (There was no need to ask the neighbours for a supply.) We are conscious that the bathroom style needs updating, however it is more than functional, and we keep it very clean. However, we are installing a complete beautiful new bathroom this month (December 2016) which future guests will be able to enjoy.
