Description

This grand holiday property is set in the extensive grounds of The Sedgeford Hall with stunning interiors and access to a swimming pool and estate walks.

A very warm welcome awaits at the home of the Campbell family, The Sedgeford Hall. Set in the heart of a 1200-acre farming and shooting estate in a beautiful north Norfolk valley, The Sedgeford Hall offers a beautiful, secluded location in which to holiday, celebrate or entertain.

The Sedgeford Hall, built of local sand-coloured brick was built in the reign of Queen Anne, and completed in 1713, with further additions throughout the centuries; it now includes a heated indoor swimming pool (bring own towels), open fires and wood-burning stoves for the colder winter months, beautiful enclosed gardens and numerous Estate walks, with lakes, woods and parkland.

Visitors may wander around the expansive grounds at their leisure. Sedgeford is just a few miles from the coast, and close to splendid towns and villages such as Burnham Market and several stately homes - Houghton Hall, Holkham, Sandringham and Anmer Hall, home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George.

Just 5 miles to the north is the seaside town of Hunstanton with miles of sandy beaches and rock pools, majestic cliffs, a Sea Life Centre, amusemens, watersports, tennis, croquet, bowls, golf, shops, restaurants and inns. Heacham, 3 miles, has the benefit of Norfolk Lavender with garden centre, shops, café and farm shop. For children, there is the popular ‘Farmer Fred’s Play Barn’ a large indoor play centre with café and an animal petting zoo! Great Bircham is a 4-mile walk, and the Peddars Way and Icknield Way are also close by. Locally there is shooting, fishing, bird watching and golf as well as many stunning beaches along the North Norfolk coast. Shop 4 miles, pub serving food ½ mile.

The Hall, the more traditional part of the house, offers four individually designed bedrooms; the magnificent mahogany four-poster bedroom with its own dressing room, a lovely twin room and a double room and a further double bedroom on the second floor with an open-plan seating area and en-suite bathroom. In the Theatre Wing, there are three further bedrooms with the main double bedroom leading to a twin bedroom and a fantastic en-suite bath and shower room. The third bedroom, off the drawing room, is a lovely, light double room with an en-suite shower room. The house has a conservatory, large spacious drawing room with log fire and a dramatic black and gold, marble floored dining room. The Theatre Wing also offers a further drawing room with wood-burning stove and a small dining room with seating area. The spacious, light filled kitchen; the ‘soul’ of the house has a hand-built kitchen, Aga and Aga module and TV seating area. The kitchen opens out onto the walled Roman garden – perfect for alfresco dining. The Theatre Wing also offers a further galley style kitchen.

Spacious drawing room with open fire/conservatory. Dining room with marble floor and views of the south lawn. Large kitchen with seating area, TV, Aga, electric cooker and tiled floor. Main Hall first floor: One double bedroom with 5ft four-poster bed, one twin bedroom, which both share an en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle and toilet. Second floor: Further spacious attic suite bedroom with 5ft bed, open plan seating area with double futon bed (for alternative sleeping only), TV and en-suite shower room with toilet. The Theatre Wing is accessed through The Hall kitchen, through to a sitting room with wood-burning stove and double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only). Dining room. Galley-style kitchen. Beautiful big warm house, plenty of space and comfort in lovely gardens. Three generations of family and our dogs thoroughly enjoyed Easter week together. Four teenagers though finding plenty of desks and quiet rooms to study for their GCE's and A level also find time for relaxation in the lovely indoor pool.

what a fantastic venue for our family to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. There is everything you could wish for and more! This house is tastefully decorated and so spacious. The large kitchen/family room was a fantastic place for us all to meet each morning. The large indoor swimming pool was amazing and the grounds were beautiful. We would certainly book this property again!

A perfect venue for a birthday celebration. Sedgeford Hall is great for entertaining a large number of guests. We had the Hall and theatre wing (sleeping 14) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff we very helpful, getting logs for the fireplaces, changing a gas bottle mid evening when it ran out during cooking! We really didn't want to leave at the end of our stay.

We stayed as a family group of grandparents, children, grandchildren and 2 dogs. A total of 15 to celebrate our golden wedding. We all thought the place was a exceptional. Plenty of space for everyone. Lovely countryside and not far from the beach. The pool was great. So warm. We all had a marvellous weekend.

Great place to gather family .. plenty of room for children to play hide and seek and create imaginary dens. Safe small enclosed garden. The pool was a bonus on the rainy day. Well equipped kitchen. Wifi not great in places but that did not spoil our fun. Can imagine the house at Christmas would be fantastic . Great to imagine how it would have been in the past.

A group of 13 of us stayed in the Main Hall and Theatre wing at the beginning of July and it was fabulous. We have stayed at a few properties in Norfolk over the years and this is now our firm favorite, There is so much space that when there are 4 families you are not in each others pockets, if you don't want to be, but lots of large communal areas if you do. The pool is very well maintained as are the grounds. The owners Holy and Charlie were regularly around the estate if you had any queries and they were really helpful and pleasant. Our kids loved running around the large grounds playing rugby and football, leaving us to enjoy a glass of wine or 5 by the pond in the lovely walled courtyard. Excellent all round.
