Lovely location. Excellent kitchen with sea view. Main bedroom very nice with window front and rear. Nice bathroom. Second bedroom small, no seaview. Lounge dark but cosy, two small sofas, excellent TV. Heating difficult to control generally. Didn't use dining room, used small kitchen table as a brighter room and more practical and sea view. Gardens long and full of plants. Reported to owner that after a morning shower, the shower tray was leaking through ceiling to lounge, owner was very short with me, insisting I turned the water off, she got very cross when I said no, not necessary, its the output not input and we needed water and she said I'll get a plumber" and put the phone down on me. Later got text telling me to turn off water, she did not seem to listen or understand or communicate nicely, or have consideration for us, she seemed in a panicked state. Not nice when you are on holiday. Two days later shower tray was resealed by a plumber, arranged when we informed her we would be out that day. Left with good feelings about St Just area, it is special, but won't be staying here, cottage itself worth a higher rating but sadly lowered due to the experience with the owner.

Lovely character cottage, with delightful views. Extremely well equipped, clean and comfortable. More spacious than we originally thought. Front and rear gardens were both delightful and private. Very short stroll to the coast, with scenic walks in either direction. Convenient local pub, just 5 minutes walk, offering generous and tasty food. The owner sent a text on our arrival and offered attentive assistance should we need it; however everything was perfect. Many fascinating attractions a short drive away, such as The Minack Theatre - we saw an excellent play and the back drop was superb! Park at Pendeen Lighthouse and walk 10-15 minutes along the coast path to Portheras Cove - idyllic and it must be one of the only beaches to be relatively quiet during the first week of August! If you happen to be a fan of Poldark, then you will see many peaceful areas where filming took place and with a little fanciful imagination and day dreaming you never know who may be around the next corner of your morning walk.........

Our second stay at Secret Garden. A true gem. A walk down the lane takes you to historic tin mines and beautiful costal walks and a walk up the lane takes you to a welcoming local pub with big food at great prices. The cottage is perfect and the views just stunning.
