Description

Located in the designated Solway Coast AONB, this large detached property commands dramatic coastal and countryside panoramas from every room.

Stunningly set by the sea, in the designated Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this large detached property commands dramatic panoramas from every room, over the sea to Scotland and meadows to the Lake District Fells. Seaview stands in an unspoilt seashore hamlet of 28 homes, and is surrounded by its own enclosed gardens, with vast sands just over the road. It has eight good-sized bedrooms (three with en-suite facilities). There is ample room for large groups, making it a perfect holiday destination for families to get together in a seaside/rural area. Between the house and sands is a nature reserve, a park-like greensward stretching for 12 miles from the Victorian seaside resort of Silloth (3 miles) to the fishing harbour of Maryport (9 miles) with play areas and delightful shoreline walks. The Beckfoot sands offer rock pools, sea angling, sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and swimming, as well as an abundance of bird life and glorious sunsets to enjoy. Behind the house quiet lanes wind through the Solway Plain and offer excellent cycle routes. Just 2½ miles down the road is a modern leisure centre, with indoor swimming-pool, spa, sauna, gym, tennis, shop and café. Five 18-hole golf courses are nearby – Silloth’s is in the ‘Top 100’ and is a championship qualifying course. With Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District National Park and the Scottish Borders all easily accessible, this makes an ideal touring centre. Shop and pub 3 miles.

Wonderfull location, excellent place for a family get together. Few things need maintenance which would make the house perfect. Ensuit toilet does not flush, ensuit shower between the two double bedrooms has no hot water, many light bulbs need changing, most internal doors need adjustment as hard to close (main bathroom door, down stairs toilet door). Very good facilities through out, everything you need.

Enough bedrooms. Great views of the Solway. Comfy sofas. Everything you need in the kitchen. Very clean and homely. Lots of room. We visited in August to celebrate my Dads 80th birthday. 13 of us and a dog. Neighbour very friendly and a helpful caretaker. Quiet area. Enough fridge space for beer and food. Ample parking. Bonus games room for being childish. Warm house. We had issues with the eletrics tripping but didn't effect our enjoyment of the holiday. Visited Carlise, Newcastle, Whitehaven, Keswick, Glasgow, Dumfries, Siloth, Maryport, Workington and swam in a lake too. Loved it. Wonderful coast, mountains and lakes.

We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one was by far the best. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We could not have asked for more. It was very spacious, well equipped and in a superb location. A big thankyou to the owners!

Warm, clean, comfortable. Shore with walks from the door a great asset but a quite fast though not busy road for kids to cross. A great place for a family get together.
