This delightful holiday cottage has extensive, direct sea views. Within easy reach are the Needles, with chair lift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Attractions include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Bonchurch beach, Pearl Centre, Dinosaur Museum, Donkey Sanctuary and Calbourne Water Mill which has a 17th-century working watermill. Slightly further afield, Osborne House and Gardens (Queen Victoria’s holiday residence), Carisbrooke Castle and the sailing town of Yarmouth are worthy of a visit. Cowes in the north west of the island is renowned for its sailing. Also within easy reach are vineyards and quaint villages, some with thatched roofs such as Godshill, Old Shanklin and Brighstone. Popular sandy beaches such as Compton and Steephill Cove are a short drive away. Outdoor pursuits include scenic walking, riding, fishing, cycling, water sports and golf. We had a lovely time at Sea View, the cottage was perfect for our family of 2 adults, a 2 year old and 6 year old. Great care had been taken to ensure our stay was comfortable including all the important little things like hand soap, washing up liquid and dish washer tablets as well as a wonderful selection of Tea and Coffee. A Lovely welcome basket too. There was a great supply of DVD's, games and even a few toys. The views were amazing and the holiday overall was really enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

We loved our stay, the house was lovely and welcoming, in a nice quiet location but not too far to go for shops and attractions. Would definite stay again.

Great little cottage in an excellent location. This was our second visit to this cottage and we would definitely stay here again. The only thing we noticed this time was quite a few cobwebs and the floors could have been cleaner, although I am being picky.

The cottage was absolutely lovely, very well equipped and extremely clean. The sea view is wonderful from the front garden and very pleasant to look at whilst eating. Car parking wasn't a problem as we parked outside the cottage everyday. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the island with a lovely coastal walk to either shanklin or ventnor right on the door step. A perfect retreat for couples, families and dog lovers. Will definitely visit again.

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable we did not sleep well at all. The BBQ had been left filthy so we bought temporary light yourself BBQs from the supermarket because we were not about to clean it all up felt it should be left ready to use. The back garden was very, very small (as you can only use part of it due to health and safety) and if I had known it was so small I would not have booked. Not big enough outdoor space for our dog. The oven in the kitchen was dirty and had definitely not been cleaned before our arrival. The welcome pack was very poor, probably the worse one I had ever had (and we had lots over the years). It had tea bags but no milk so you could not make a cup of tea without going out shopping. On a positive note the location was good, the cottage was sweet but would definitely not book it again.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you very much for your comments. We are sorry that you felt that things were not as they should have been. We always try very hard to make sure that our guests enjoy their stay. We appreciate that you found the beds uncomfortable; we are disappointed to hear that given that they are only two years old. Although the BBQ is cleaned regularly and guests are asked to clean after use there is perhaps a limit as to how clean a BBQ can be kept when left outdoors under a cover. In light of your comments concerning the garden we have checked our description and it does state that there is an enclosed courtyard at the rear and a lawned area with seating to the front which we feel (being dog owners ourselves) is sufficient especially considering all the lovely walks available locally. Thank you for your comments regarding the oven and welcome pack we have raised your concerns with our caretaker, who has consistently achieved high standards of cleanliness since she started working with us two years ago. Our welcome pack consists of bread, milk, butter, marmalade, tea, coffee, sugar, local paper, dog treats, and biscuits, we are sorry that the milk was overlooked on this occasion.

Lovely cottage with everything we could want. Thought it might be nearer the sea than it was but that was not a problem.
