Absolutely brilliant and the owners of the cottage were very attentive and welcoming. The cottage was clean, tidy, warm. Gardenstown and neighbouring village of Crovie were very pretty, the beach outside your door was great, many hours spent with the children beach combing :-) The area does struggle with mobile phone reception, but depending on your preference that could be a good thing! Phone in cottage with honesty box. Keep an eye on young children outside the front door due to drop down to beach from harbour road wall. Have recommended to friends and family and would visit again, loved it.

The cottage was lovely and immaculate with all the equipment you could ever need for your holiday. The owner was very helpful and was only concerned that we had a good stay in the cottage. Beautiful little town on the edge of the north sea with fantastic views and lots of little towns and villages to visit within easy driving distance. However,The parking is horrendous and there is more chance to book a meal in he'll than the one and only restaurant in the village. If you are going here you will need to book a table about 6 weeks in advance as it only has room for about 20 people.

A lovely cottage in a superb location, literally right by the sea. The cottage was well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave etc. Some of the furniture seemed a bit tired and dated, but was clean and maintained. Given the price of the rental it suited our requirements.

The cottage was ok but no real outside space and sitting room a bit dark with no view, we didn't have good weather for most of the week so sat in the kitchen most of the time we were inside. Would be better to provide some logs or coal for the fire and charge a bit more in the overall rent. Access for vehicles was awkward and parking quite restricted, the only pub in the village was disappointing and we didn't find many places to eat out locally (a large part of my holidays is not to cook!) it was useful that the owner told us to take supplies with us. We enjoyed the cliff walks and nearby old fishing villages but prefer the west coast of Scotland for scenery and walking so will probably not return to the east coast.
