It was a lovely cottage in a great area, what I didn’t like was having to go to the shops and buy cleaning products to clean the place, crockery, dishwasher where terrible the bathroom wasn’t clean and a lot of cobwebs all round the house.

Cottage was very good, but could have done with more towels, and although shower gel, shampoo were provided, as well as dishwashing tablets, there was not any soap. Perhaps the information could state that limited items are provided.

Arrived at 13:30, cottage was ready to occupy which was a bonus. Beds made up with towels available for all. Cottage was clean and very comfortable. We had five adults and two under 5. Travel cot and stair gate were adequate. Fire guard also available. Loved the addition of games and DVDs for adults and children, and the secure garden was a haven for the children. Kitchen super equipped, didn't need to bring own items, benefitted from the washing machine and dishwasher with dishwasher tablets supplied. Always room for small improvements I would advise to update the broom, dustpan and brush and toilet brush - in downstairs toilet. Great location with fakenham and wells at equal distance away - shame there is no village shop, but this wouldn't stop us from visiting for another stay.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed Seascape and your holiday in Norfolk. Your suggestions have been acted on and all cleaning equipment has been replaced with new. Although there is no shop in the village as you say, the pub across the green does do milk, papers and bread. We hope to see you again soon

Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. It was clear the furniture was old and tatty. One of the table chair legs fell off when we sat our 18 month daughter on it fortunately I had hold of the chair at that time so no injury incurred. The floors were discusting and we had to go out to buy a mop to clean them, mop left in cupboard for future guests. Hoover was full and looked like it hadn't been emptied for sometime and I had to strip out the dishwasher filter as that was discusting too. Along with this the oven looked like it had never been cleaned and when we used the washing machine our clothes came out covered in dog hair we then spent time cleaning this appliance. Due to this and whether conditions we decided to cut short our holiday and left on the Wednesday afternoon. Overall I feel disappointed on paying money to clean this cottage when it is clear investment is needed to employ someone and give them the time to do the job properly. This is such a shame when the cottage as the potential to be a lovely place to stay.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your feed back and we are very concerned that the cleanliness of the property was not up to scratch. In light of this and some other recent comments we have now changed our cleaners with immediate effect. On the furniture we are surprised by this as Sofas were new last year and beds are brand new last month. We will look into the broken dinning room chair immediately.

Excellent location nice looking cottage completely spoilt because of a lack of cleanliness and the worst beds we have ever slept in . The overall feel of the cottage was that of a cash cow for the owners. Would not recommend this cottage in its present state

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, as per comments below we have now taken them on board. Both double beds have been replaced with king size beds and new mattresses, as well as super king duvets and new linen. Also, we have now removed single beds from the double bedrooms so the house now sleeps 6 in 2 king-size and 2 single rooms. This was put in place 15th April 2017.

A nice cottage with lots of space. However we arrived to no heating (told the oil had been stolen the day before) but we had to contact the owner to find this out. Hot water didn't work for 2 days - electrician came twice. Emailed owner several days after our stay to express disappointment and have heard nothing to date.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so sorry this happened to you! We have never had anything like this happen before. We have not received an email from you but we will contact you as soon as possible with regards.

Our scoring does not really represent how much we really enjoy staying in Seascape (our 3rd stay in 6 years). The cottage is uncluttered, tastefully decorated & warm a home from home but what let it down was the lack of cleanliness and worn out bedding i.e mattresses & duvets in the double bedrooms. The owners can only address the issues if they know, so here is the list: cooker hood covered in grease, top of fridge thick with dust, dinning table was ingrained with grime, single bed in ground floor bedroom covered in dog hair, (all the aforementioned we cleaned). Upstairs we found finger/toe clippings in the double bedroom. Last time we stayed Aug 2012 we mentioned the mattresses were collapsed & needed changing, Feb 2017 the same old collapsed mattresses & duvets resulting in very little restful sleep. The shower cubicle had not been cleaned. This is a shame as we love the cottage & its location, all that's needed is a thorough deep clean, new double mattresses & duvets then & only then would we give a higher rating. Please please please address these issues as this is unacceptable. The cost of holidaying in this beautiful country is at a premium so the holiday let should reflect this. We want this to be viewed as constructive & thus motivate to action! Aside from the main issues the downstairs floors, bathroom/toilet were clean & fresh smelling as we entered creating a calm atmosphere. We all had a fantastic vacation catching up with friends & enjoying the surrounding coast line with its many wildlife attractions, we loved it!

Also we have now removed single beds from the double bedrooms so the house now sleeps 6 in 2 king-size & 2 single rooms.
