Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

With far-reaching views, surrounded by farmland, this holiday cottage is ideally located for exploring the North Yorkshire Coast.

Coarse fishing and abundant wildlife

Surrounded by farmland, this detached single storey holiday cottage was originally used as the living quarters for those manning the nearby Second World War searchlight. Completely modernised yet retaining its original working range in the living room, it offers a peaceful location with far reaching views. The RSPB have noted over 100 different species of birds on the farmland, and with a pond available for coarse fishing and a footpath leading to the coast, this is an ideal cottage to enjoy many forms of wildlife. Just 4 miles from Bridlington, with Flamborough Head and Bempton RSPB reserve beyond, and with the coastline all accessible, together with days out at Beverley, 16 miles away, or historic York, this also makes a great touring base. Shop, pub and restaurant 2.5 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Open fire in living room included. NSH, electricity, bed linen and towels included. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture. Portable barbecue. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

Excellent cosy cottage, everything you need is there. Some previous reviews have made reference to the cottage being cold and the access road being full of potholes, I can assure you this is not presently the case, we were lovely and warm and the means for additional heating were available and the access road was one of the best kept farm tracks we have traveled on, if I could pick one fault the shower would benefit from an upgrade, but that’s being picky. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable week we hope to return soon.

Lovely cottage, but could have done with a deep clean. Bedding & linen really good. As the cottage is remote a larger TV with a DVD player would be better . Also a small TV in the kitchen would be nice whilst cooking. The area around the cottage was great for walking our dog, he loved it & settled in immediately. Will go again.

Nice quiet retreat. Lovely & cosy with the fire lit in the evening. Would benefit from a good clean & the bushes trimmed back from the bathroom window. Apart from that a nice cosy cottage.

Lovely cottage in a lovely area, owners very friendly and the welcome pack of flowers wine and chocolates was a nice touch , the wildlife was amazing hares everywhere barn owls ,tawny owls , stouts and the beach is not to far to walk too, nearest pub which is about 2 miles away but very nice and good food , my only concern was the garden the fencing around was not dog friendly as they can get underneath it at the right hand side of front door behind the privet and the dog could have gotten into the cows and sheep and the large gate they could just walk through the gaps but over all a lovely stay
