Single storey cottage affording stunning views across Loch Bracadale on the Isle of Skye

Seaforth Cottage is set in its own delightful cottage gardens and enjoys stunning views across Loch Bracadale and the surrounding hills. Approached via its own short private track in the pretty hamlet of Portnalong, this traditional single storey cottage has been lovingly cared for and updated by its owners. With many original features it offers a warm, cosy ambience in a wonderfully private setting. The lounge has a superb exposed stone wall, with feature wood-burning stove set in original fireplace. It looks out across the pretty gardens, with mature flowering shrubs, lawns and trees. It is totally secluded and a real asset to the cottage. The kitchen / dining room is modern and well-equipped. There are two pretty bedrooms (the main double bedroom has an attractive inglenook fireplace) and a modern family-sized bathroom. Situated just off a quiet country lane that leads down to Portnalong harbour, on the Minginish Peninsular, the surrounding hills and open countryside make this a walkers, climbers and cyclists paradise. The Cuillin Mountain range and Macleod’s Tables are both within striking distance of the cottage.

cottage was warm ,bed was broken, and kitchen lacking in cooking equipment, needed updating.Garden untidy, trees could be trimmed in front to enjoy the view.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you were disappointed with your visit. Our caretaker responded immediately to your concerns about the bed - we can confirm that the breakage had only just occurred. The breakage to the bed has now been rectified. The kitchen and it's equipment will be reviewed although when we were there in November we found it perfectly adequate. The garden is attended by a gardener fortnightly and the trees at the front act as a windbreak for the garden and house.

I put 5 for comfort and equipment. Comfort was perfect, but the equipment needed to make this a cottage I would stay in again are a dryer and wifi. Location was nice, secluded, 2 doors from a pub, 45 minute walk from Carbost (or 5 minutes in the car). No loch or mountain view, but very accessible to both. We spent a wonderful Christmas and New Year at Seaforth, but being able to dry our winter walking clothes and check our work emails would have made it a near perfect location.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Fantastic views and a very friendly chicken. There was no wifi and as the cottage is on a working croft the fencing could do with improving as it is let as a secure garden but with livestock around the fencing was not secure enough .

Excellent cottage in wonderful location. Very comfortable after a busy day in the hills, with a spacious kitchen for all your walking gear. Comfortable lounge and bedroom. Easy parking and wonderful views from private garden.
