Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Discover the Cinque Ports of Hastings and Rye, and explore William the Conqueror’s castle on the cliff.

A well-thought-out, semi-detached holiday bungalow offering good-sized living accommodation in an elevated position on the edge of Hastings. It has a greenhouse in the garden, and from the terrace you can actually glimpse the sea as you stand up to reposition your deckchair! Situated on bus routes for easy access to the centre of this medieval Cinque Port and you can experience for yourself the relationship that the town has with the ocean and see the largest beach launched fishing fleet in Europe, despite the decline in the fishing industry. The old town offers interesting book shops, vintage clothes, tea rooms and antiques. Although The Battle of Hastings in 1066 took place a few miles down the road at Battle Abbey, the ruins of William the Conqueror’s first English Castle still stands on the cliffs overlooking the sea in Hastings. Just along the coast is the Cinque Port of Rye; here you can explore where E. F. Benson’s ’Mapp and Lucia’ was filmed. Visit the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and then continue to Camber and stroll along the glorious miles of sand dunes. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room with wooden floor/dining room with French doors/kitchen. Conservatory/utility room. 2 double bedrooms, (one 5ft zip and link adjustable bed, controls available on request), can be twin). Wet room with raised toilet and hand rails. Separate toilet.

Gas woodburner in living room included. Gas central heating, electricity, gas, bed linen and towels included. Two Freeview TVs. DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi.Telephone-emergency and incoming calls only. Lawned garden with terrace and furniture. Bike store. Parking (3 cars). No smoking. NB: Netted fish pond in garden.

Really spacious, well equipped and clean. Nice to have the garden all enclosed for the dog. Over a mile down to sea front, and quite a steep climb back up again, but easy access out of town with the car, so easy to visit Rye or other coast towns.

Great to have biscuits, tea, coffee and milk awaiting us on our arrival. Lovely clean house and very spacious. Owners were really helpful with any difficulties we had, ie the heating cut out one morning and the owner came around very soon to sort it out. Wifi very good. Beautiful garden.

Although the house was large and spacious, particular good house if you are a wheel chair user, as it has been adapted for that purpose. The house i found a little dated for my taste and althought it was clean through out, i wasnt very impressed with the fact somebody has used the toilet before we came and had not flushed. Also was very comfortable that the owner was already in the house watching telly, made me feel a little uncomfortable. The otherwise is clean and spacious and dogs are welcome, which is a plus, location is very good and great view from the garden.

Our second stay in Sea View and I think it's a credit to the owner. Attention to detail is spot on. We certainly would stay again and will recommend it to other guests.

Lovely large, comfortable holiday accommodation, had everything you could possibly need. In a great position very close to Hastings town and seafront. Managed to walk it down in 30 minutes, took a little longer to walk back up though

Had a lovely stay at the Sea View. Very spacious, clean and had everything needed for our 2 week holiday. Fruit, wine and tea/coffee/sugar/milk was most welcome. The conservatory and large garden was an added bonus along with a lovely view over Hastings and the sea. A little out of the way, took about 30-40 min to walk into town (depending on health) but a nice walk on a nice day. Taxi back cost about £7 along with dog. Owner was very helpful, we had a leaky washing machine, Ian came out at 10pm, sorted out what was wrong and the next day a new machine was installed along with a box of biscuits for the inconvenience. Good base for touring around Sussex. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.
