Description

Discover the Cinque Ports of Hastings and Rye, and explore William the Conqueror’s castle on the cliff.

A well-thought-out, semi-detached holiday bungalow offering good-sized living accommodation in an elevated position on the edge of Hastings. It has a greenhouse in the garden, and from the terrace you can actually glimpse the sea as you stand up to reposition your deckchair! Situated on bus routes for easy access to the centre of this medieval Cinque Port and you can experience for yourself the relationship that the town has with the ocean and see the largest beach launched fishing fleet in Europe, despite the decline in the fishing industry. The old town offers interesting book shops, vintage clothes, tea rooms and antiques. Although The Battle of Hastings in 1066 took place a few miles down the road at Battle Abbey, the ruins of William the Conqueror’s first English Castle still stands on the cliffs overlooking the sea in Hastings. Just along the coast is the Cinque Port of Rye; here you can explore where E. F. Benson’s ’Mapp and Lucia’ was filmed. Visit the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and then continue to Camber and stroll along the glorious miles of sand dunes. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room with wooden floor/dining room with French doors/kitchen. Conservatory/utility room. 2 double bedrooms, (one 5ft zip and link, can be twin). Wet room with raised toilet and hand rails. Separate toilet.

Gas woodburner in living room included. Gas central heating, electricity, gas, bed linen and towels included. Two Freeview TVs. DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi.Telephone-emergency and incoming calls only. Lawned garden with terrace and furniture. Parking (3 cars). No smoking. NB: Netted fish pond in garden.

Lovely dog friendly bungalow that has a great secluded enclosed garden, lots of space with open plan kitchen diner, the bedrooms were spacious and there was a bonus of a table football in the conservatory very handy with adults and kids alike! Not too far into Hastings though a car is needed and everything was thought of and spotlessly clean.

Excellent cottage. Perfect for an elderly person. This is the second time we have taken my wife's father there and he loves it. Easy drive to the seafront and a good restaurant five minutes drive away. The owner Ian is very helpful and does everything he can to make your stay pleasant and relaxing. We have already booked for next year. Would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone.

a very comfortable and well equipped bungalow with a good sized enclosed garden. The position was just right for getting to places and the local shop was well stocked and within a short walk.

We arrived on the Friday to be met by the owner Ian who was very helpful. The location of the bungalow is spot on just down the road is a Spar for your everyday needs. The house is on Fairly quiet road and a very nice area. The welcolm pack of fruit and milk was a nice touch so thank you.The house had everything that you need which made it a home from home situation. We were very unfortunate with the weather we were there when the south coast got a good old soaking. The wifi was brilliant for us.The house itself was like a tardis much larger then it looked from the outside.I would not hesitate in staying there again in the future.

The owner provided tea, coffee and sugar as well as wine and fruit. The place was spacious and spotless. It would be suitable for someone who is elderly or handicapped as it has a raised toilet and grab rails etc. Pleasant garden.
