Just 500 yards from the sandy beachJust 500 yards from a sandy beach

Set in the seaside village of Southerness, these spacious, detached holiday properties (refs 30501 and 26035) are just 500 yards from the sandy beach and make an ideal base for exploring south west Scotland. They stand 30 yards apart and are separated by a fence with an access gate. Both enjoy a sea view to the south and views of Criffel and the Galloway Hills to the north, and are ideal for family and friends to relax and unwind in. They each have a hot tub, and a games room to keep everyone occupied. Located on the spectacular Solway Coast near Dumfries and close to the stunning Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park, this is a popular area for walkers and cyclists with world class mountain biking at Dalbeattie 7 Stanes nearby. The area offers unspoilt villages, dramatic coastlines, sandy beaches, rocky coves, magnificent gardens, castles and ancient monuments to explore. Wildlife abounds and the RSPB nature reserve is just along the coast. A championship golf course, Southerness Golf Course, is just 500 yards away, with a further good selection of golf courses within Dumfries and Galloway. Other activities include fishing, riding and sailing. The small village of Southerness with its quaint lighthouse that stands on the Solway Firth is well worth a visit, and 3 miles away is the home of John Paul Jones (founder of the American Navy). The area of Dumfries and Galloway has a lot of border history and many historical attractions including castles and many connections to Robbie Burns. Sweetheart Abbey, Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens and Mabie Farm Park are all within easy reach. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards. Properties 30501 and 26035 can be booked together to accommodate up to 16 guests.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday the bungalow is exceptionally clean with very friendly helpful owners the bungalow is well appointed and the hot tub and games room was a real bonus . The only negative point was the Wi-Fi which was constantly dropping out. We would happily stop here again

Lovely Bungalow very spacious nice big garden for children to play and the dogs to run around. If the weather is good could do with some more outdoor seating. Location is good with the mountains and fields with the sheep and lambs in on one side and beach on the other side which is quite pebbly and slightly further than we thought. Owner were on hand if you needed anything as they lived close by.

Fantastic large cottage with large grounds for the dog to roam, great for the family with a large games room, hot tub and plenty of games in the cupboard for the kids. Modern lush interior and pet friendly. Dining table set out ready to eat off, Christmas tree with pressies for us all even the dog. Iain and his family made every inch of the cottage feel like our own home and made the holiday a pleasure and memorable.

Absolutely amazing holiday. We unitilised the accommodation which met our needs 100%. Our lovely black lab Oli loved the freedom he was given due to a well fenced area round a large surrounding garden. The games room and hot tub made our evenings even better after eating our dinner round the large dining room table . Loved every minute of our stay . The owners were fab too . Not in your face but there if you needed them which was very little as everything was spot on . Only one bad thing that was we had to leave to come home
