Description

An ideal holiday retreat with panoramic sea views and cliff top walks leading to a 1½ mile beach walk.

Offering superb, panoramic sea views to the front and side, and distant views over the South Downs National Park to the side and rear, this light and airy holiday property makes an ideal retreat for couples or families. It is accessed along an unadopted lane, only 300 yards from the nearest restaurant. There is a large enclosed decked area overlooking the far-reaching views, the perfect spot in which to enjoy al fresco dining and where glorious sunsets can be savoured. The cliff top walks start straight from the door, leading down to a 1½-mile beach walk, accessed via a ramp about 100 yards from the property. The games room on the first floor is great for kids, with a pool table and games as well as a TV and sofa bed. There is so much to do in the area; Brighton Marina and the cosmopolitan city centre are a short drive, with numerous bars, live music, eateries, theatres, art galleries and antique shops. Enjoy shopping in The Lanes, saunter along the pier or visit Brighton Sea Life Centre or the opulent Royal Pavilion. Newhaven with ferries to Dieppe, is about 10 minutes’ drive, why not take the ferry over to the French markets for the day. Within easy reach are historic Lewes, Bluebell Railway, Filching Manor Motor Museum, Seven Sisters Country Park, Drusilla’s Zoo, Beachy Head and Glyndebourne (opera in the grounds during summer). For horse racing enthusiasts there is Hickstead, Brighton and Plumpton. Enjoy Firle Place, Charleston House, Pevensey Castle, Battle, 1066 Country and Eastbourne with international tennis and its Victorian promenade. Other places to visit include historic Arundel Castle and many NT homes and gardens. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Fantastic location, very picturesque. Cottage lacking in some of the basic amenities which we would normally expect (only one tea towel, 1 scourer (dirty), one dish cloth (dirty) - no foil or cling film) Only small things but they were missed. Only basic cleanliness - everything very dusty and windows smeared on the inside and out. We live near the coast in the north east and our windows are not in that state. Couldn't lock patio doors - had to leave the shutters down most of the time. Sorry to be negative but we were disappointed by the above. Fix these things and it would be great. The layout and comfort of the cottage was good.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We do supply a new scourer, dish cloth, and sponge for new guests. I am sorry that for some reason this slipped through the checklist prior to your visit. We will also make sure there is more than one tea towel in future. On my last visit to the house there was a large roll of cling wrap and silver foil in the kitchen drawer, so someone has been busy wrapping things up! Thank you for letting us know; I will buy more supplies. The patio door does lock, but there is a knack to it. We have left instructions on the door and in the book. We will fix these things ASAP and hope you will be back. Enjoy the summer.

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Sea Coast View. The location right on the sea coast was superb! On arrival, on a cold and blustery day, the house was warm and welcoming. The beds were comfy with plenty of extra blankets to help keep out the cold. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of crockery and plates. With that and the dishwasher, it meant we could enjoy lazy chilled out days when we needed to. I would make the point to any future visitors to really take heed of the advice NOT to park in front of the house. It certainly would spoil your view but, also, because one of our party arrived late and could not find the side road, she parked her car at the front overnight. Sadly, she found it had been "keyed" along the side when she went to move it early the next morning and we fear this may have been some disgruntled person who took exception to where the car was parked. Anyway, not a criticism of the holiday home but, a minor point to note.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are so sorry about the incident with the car. Nothing like that has happened in the eight years we have owned Sea Coast View. We do advise guests to park on the gravel drive by the front door simply because parking on the cliff top obscures the spectacular view. Our neighbours have always been very supportive and easygoing. We think it must have been a random act of vandalism, such as could have happened anywhere. We are so sorry it happened, and hope it did not ruin your holiday.

We loved the location and found the bungalow warm and comfortable. There were plenty of amenities close by and lovely walks. Would definitely love to go again and hope the opportunity arises.

This was our second visit. Cottage excellent...just make garden secure for our dog, that the cleaner has finished by 3pm and solve overflowing outside rubbish bins. Will definitely book again. Thanks

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to see you had a wonderful break again. We must apologise for the cleaner still being there on your arrival and the bins overflowing. The previous tenant had left the house in an appalling state and it took a lot longer to clean than usual. We did report this to Cottages 4 You and are sorry for any inconvenience. The garden gate had blown off in the storm and is now safely re-attached.

We went on a stormy, windy weekend in January! The cottage was beautifully warm and welcoming, well equipped and very comfortable. We arrived in a storm and spent the night wordering if we were going to be blown away but that added to the exhilaration of being so high on the cliff! The views were amazing with the hugest of waves and undulating sea and our walk on the lower prom was such fun with the waves crashing in and the sea spray flying so high! Our weekend was brilliant and highly recommended! We hope to return in a different season, but I can highly recommend a winter weekend in Sea Coast View

Property in excellent location, very comfortable and quiet. Everything you need close by. Lots of good places to eat in Peacehaven itself and Brighton only a short journey away. Don't be put off by unmade road and commercial premises as you approach. They were no bother atall. We would definitely stay again. The dog loved it and didn't want to come home. Suggest soap tray in ensuite shower please. One small criticism, mouldy bread in bread bin and kitchen not quite as clean as rest of house. Apart from that minor issue absolutely loved our break and can't wait to go again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Glad to hear you all had a lovely break and will be back. Sorry about the bread. Our cleaner does a wonderful job but this must have just slipped through the net. I am off to buy a soap tray.

Lovely place games room lacking equipment, deck chairs broken, need more pillows on bed.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for letting us know that the deckchairs are broken. There should be spare pillows in the bedroom cupboard but I have bought some more new ones. About the Games room, there are lots of games in the chest of drawers upstairs, Monopoly, Twister, cards, Scrabble etc. There is also now a big TV. The pool table is a little tired from wear and tear so we will probably remove it this winter.

Breathtaking sea view. Confortable and well equipped home. Ideal distance from Brighton (neither too far nor too close).

Great view. Relatively clean but the windows were dirty. Beds were really comfy. The leaflets were helpful. Peacehaven is a lovely village. Would definitely stay again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are so pleased to hear you had a relaxing holiday. The windows are cleaned regularly, but due to the location and exposure to the elements, this may only last a few hours. So, if you can't see the magnificent views, due to salt and sand blown onto the glass, please feel free to help yourselves to the bucket and extendable squeegee in the cupboard.

Great bungalow , we had a good time and it was perfect for the dog! Only down side is the busy road into Brighton but that's only to be expected at a popular resort, I would be happy to go again.
