There is so much to do in the area; Brighton Marina and the cosmopolitan city centre are a short drive, with numerous bars, live music, eateries, theatres, art galleries and antique shops. Enjoy shopping in The Lanes, saunter along the pier or visit Brighton Sea Life Centre or the opulent Royal Pavilion. We went on a stormy, windy weekend in January! The cottage was beautifully warm and welcoming, well equipped and very comfortable. We arrived in a storm and spent the night wordering if we were going to be blown away but that added to the exhilaration of being so high on the cliff! The views were amazing with the hugest of waves and undulating sea and our walk on the lower prom was such fun with the waves crashing in and the sea spray flying so high! Our weekend was brilliant and highly recommended! We hope to return in a different season, but I can highly recommend a winter weekend in Sea Coast View

Property in excellent location, very comfortable and quiet. Everything you need close by. Lots of good places to eat in Peacehaven itself and Brighton only a short journey away. Don't be put off by unmade road and commercial premises as you approach. They were no bother atall. We would definitely stay again. The dog loved it and didn't want to come home. Suggest soap tray in ensuite shower please. One small criticism, mouldy bread in bread bin and kitchen not quite as clean as rest of house. Apart from that minor issue absolutely loved our break and can't wait to go again.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Glad to hear you all had a lovely break and will be back. Sorry about the bread. Our cleaner does a wonderful job but this must have just slipped through the net. I am off to buy a soap tray.

Lovely place games room lacking equipment, deck chairs broken, need more pillows on bed.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for letting us know that the deckchairs are broken. There should be spare pillows in the bedroom cupboard but I have bought some more new ones. About the Games room, there are lots of games in the chest of drawers upstairs, Monopoly, Twister, cards, Scrabble etc. There is also now a big TV. The pool table is a little tired from wear and tear so we will probably remove it this winter.

Great view. Relatively clean but the windows were dirty. Beds were really comfy. The leaflets were helpful. Peacehaven is a lovely village. Would definitely stay again.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are so pleased to hear you had a relaxing holiday. The windows are cleaned regularly, but due to the location and exposure to the elements, this may only last a few hours. So, if you can't see the magnificent views, due to salt and sand blown onto the glass, please feel free to help yourselves to the bucket and extendable squeegee in the cupboard.

Five adults and four toddlers. Perfect size and safe decking area with gate to leave them come inside and out. However, they were always supervised as the cottage was next to a popular dog walking path. The cottage was lovely and it was a short bus journey into Brighton with a beautiful view en route. We were just disappointed by the beach. It was not suitable for our small children. We had envisaged sand and buckets and spades! There is a lot of dog Mess in the area which is a shame, but Saying this, we had a lovely break and it was a good price for easter weekend!

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you had a lovely Easter break. At low tide there are a few sandier beaches further along the undercliff walk towards Newhaven for the kids to build sandcastles. It is better to wait for half to high tide to swim off the gently shelving beaches. The shallow water over the chalk means that the water is surprisingly warm! If you kit the kids out with a bucket and fishing net they will have just as much fun catching crabs, shrimps and tiny fish. But be careful not to slip on the seaweed!

In summary, Sea Coast View cottage is a very comfortable property to rent, located in a fantastic position with easy access to Brighton, the South Downs, and Eastbourne. We arrived on Friday afternoon and on entering the property, found that one bedroom was unusable due to a roof leak. To be fair this had only been discovered that morning, and it had been fairly stormy the previous night. No matter as we had not planned to use three bedrooms on the first night - luckily we had planned to have a maximum of 5 (plus 1 child) sleeping there at any time.. We settled in very quickly as it is a very easy property to move into - there is lots of space. It was a very cold night, but we were exceedingly snug as the heating was very efficient. WiFi was very good, and Sky television meant that there was plenty of entertainment available. On the Saturday, I phoned the local agent who could not have been more helpful. He immediately arranged for a handyman to visit the property and effect repairs. I explained that we would have to use the upstairs room (which we had not planned to do), but that it was rather cold as the radiator did not seem to work at full efficiency. He arranged for the handyman to look at the radiator valve and to provide a fan heater for the room. We went out for the morning, and on our return, found that all had been done. Brilliant - the room upstairs was very quickly warming up. The rest of the time at the cottage was enjoyed by all. The bedrooms are of a good size with plenty of room for a travel cot - should it be needed - and the lounge could sit 7 in comfort. Parking is no problem - directly outside the front door for easy unloading and loading. In fact we enjoyed it so much, we are already thinking of doing the same again next year, and maybe also have an extra break later this year.

Cottage was exceptionally clean on arrival with the exception the previous occupants towels were still in the washing basket. However this did not spoil a relaxing week
