Description

Come and enjoy the spectacular views of Loch Katrine at Stronachlachar from this spacious cottage.

Charming and spacious, these two attached cottages (which comprise the west wing of Stronachlachar House), sit in an isolated corner of Loch Katrine at Stronachlachar, just 50 yards from the pier where the SS Sir Walter Scott steamer arrives daily during peak season. Situated in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park within 50 yards of Loch Katrine providing breathtaking views of the loch and surrounding hills of Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi and Ben Venue. Stronachlachar lies only a short distance from the colourful and welcoming villages of Aberfoyle and Callander which offer a choice of pubs, restaurants, unique shops and a host of colourful festivals all year round. To the west lies Inversnaid on the east shore of Loch Lomond where a seasonal ferry provides a crossing to the west shore. Nearby activities include golf, sailing and a range of other watersports and leisure club facilities. A wealth of walking and cycling routes also provide opportunities to discover some unforgettable views. Shop and pub 11 miles.

Lovely cottage that was very well equipped. We had an issue with the heating which the owners immediately came up to look at. Beautiful setting and would like to stay again.

Scott Cottage is great, especially the log burner in the evenings. Be prepared to meet a heard of Highland cattle on the road. We would recommend going on the walk from Loch Katrine to Loch Lomond (stick to the road, the footpath is only for experienced walkers in our opinion) then having a well earned drink at the Inversnaid Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond.

We stayed in Scott cottage one week in August 2017 and it was just wonderful. The cottage is equipped with really everything you might need, and the pictures on the website do not even show its full beauty. Even on a rainy day we enjoyed firing up the wood stove and stay inside. With the Pier cafe just some 50 meters away there is a great place for a quick meal.

Good location. Nearby the nice Pier Cafe. We were two persons, so we had much space. For 6 adults it would be too small. But with kids it would work for 6.
