Despite the poor weather we had a good visit to the Staffordshire Moorland and found the School House a convenient place to stay. The house has a somewhat quirky layout which adds to it's old world charm. Sadly didn't get to use the hot tub.

A lovely stay at the school house. Cottage has a quirky layout but lots of space. It’s age means noises from upstairs can be heard all over and it can get cold at night but that’s all part of the charm. Great quiet location, lovely views and good places to visit nearby. Hot tub was a hit with everyone!

Fantastic stay at School House. It was minutes from Leek town centre and the location was perfect. The only fault I could find were the floorboards had no insulation so anyone above one room could hear what was going on the room below, but this was only a minor issue. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

Loved the hot tub. Large house with lots of space. Not much within walking distance such as shops/pubs but only 5/10 mins drive away.

A period property in average condition with sufficient equipment but insufficient pleasantries.

It was some what annoying that heating system wasn’t working properly; dining room could do with brighter lighting; otherwise charming cottage. P. S. Beware of neighbours’ Doberman Pinscher: not an obedient dog at all...

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback, this is always very important to us. We are delighted that you scored us a 7 and that you found this very old quaint property to be so charming. We were not made aware that you had any problems using the heating system during your stay. Any issues that you may have need to be brought to our attention so that this can be acted on promptly as our priority is the well-being of our guests. Full instructions on how to use the heating are within the property and the staff are always available for advice should you require. As far as we were aware, there are no neighbouring properties that have a disobedient dog, and there is only one neighbour to School House as it sits in its own gardens.

Carpets in lounge were covered in animal hair. There is a wasps nest, I think, in the top right of the roof as viewed from the spa tub. Some water came through to the ceiling of the very north end of the building on a very wet day (reported)

Myself and the other ladies I stayed with had the most fantastic weekend imaginable. The cottage is extremely well equipped, particularly the kitchen. We also loved using the hot tub, which, whilst it is viewable from the road, still feels very private as it's such a quiet place. We would return for certain and would recommend to anybody else. 11/10

Great house with hot tub! Very thorough welcome email sent. The walls and floors are thin but if you are close friends or family this is fine. Good value for money. The decor is a little dated and the garden walls are low so hot tub is visible from road. Lovely idyllic location.
