Beautiful bungalow, though the steep driveway makes it a challenge if you have less mobile members of your party. It's also quite a busy road outside, which makes it difficult to leave the property by car as the visibility isn't great. The road is also noisy from the early hours and the double glazing isn't effective in drowning out the noise in the front bedroom.

We've haven't had a self catering holiday for many years, will definitely do it again after stopping at Santa Maria.

This has to be the best cottage I have stayed in, it was so clean and comfortable. The owner left us a wonderful welcome basket and a homemade cake. There was absolutely everything that you could possibly have wanted there, and more. The views out of the back windows were amazing and the deck was just the place to sit and watch the sunset reflect on the trees. If you are looking for a really restful, quiet place to stay within a short drive from all sorts of interesting places, I would recommend Santa Maria.

Comfortable cottage in a good location. There is a very good pub down the road (5 minutes walk). Nice welcome pack, good wifi.

Thoroughly enjoyed this cottage - so clean and well equipped. I just loved sitting on the decking in the beautiful sunshine gazing out over the garden and fields - really peaceful. Very good pub down the road. Came home totally relaxed.

Santa Maria'a location is perfect to explore the island from. It is a relatively quite location with stunning views and local attractions and amenities are close by. Larger supermarkets and towns are all within 15-20 mins drive. Bus services are also very convenient and regular to many locations on the island. The cottage is very clean and equipped to a very high standard, which includes books and dvd's for all the family, not to mention Sky and internet connection that was very reliable. The outside balcony area (with steps down to the garden / parking), serve as a fabulous place to eat meals. Relaxing to read a book with stunning views, horses in the field that backs onto the long garden, is all so easy. Parking is available for one car (maybe two) at the rear of the property however, reversing down the steep access between cottages needs care. There is no parking available at the front of the property and as it is a relatively busy road, parking at the rear of the cottage is recommended. Easy access to bungalow via the lovely stairs at the rear of the property is extremely convenient and safe. The owners are a pleasure to communicate with and available as they live on the island, and I would most definitely stay in this cottage again. Su - Reading, UK

Because the weather was very hot much of the time, we needed the windows open, and we found the traffic noisy.

Cottage was comfortable, clean, quiet and well-equipped with a lovely view. Parking is down a steep shared drive. TV /Sky controls had a mind of their own! Overall a lovely place to stay and the best Victoria Sponge ever!
