A lovely quirky cottage, we found all the things in the cottage very interesting, everything was clean. We were very lucky with the weather it was very cold, but dry. the cottage was toasty warm. The annexe was lovely, a bit cold but to be fair it was February! And the heater warmed it up. Door lock very hard to turn. Grandchildren and dog loved the beach. Would return.

The cottage was dark if you put the lights on it was a little better. It was full of ' 'nick nacks' that just collected dust. The settees were very low making it difficult to get up. The electrics need to be checked ASP the use of lots of junction boxes( no current breakers) The light on the staircase was not working so we had to leave all the lights in the bedrooms and bathroom on with the doors open. The annex was nice but I fell in the shower because there wasn't a bathmat. Banged my head left arm and right arm and my back. Took a while to get out as there was no hand rail. The garden was overgrown and the ground was very slippery. Couldn't open any windows in kitchen whilst cooking so was very steamy. We would go back to the area but not the cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to review our lovely cottage in Crail, whilst the score you have given us is poor, it really doesn’t reflect on the positives of this seaside cottage. You comment on the fact that we have a lot of “nic nacs” that COULD collect dust, this we appreciate and deliberately keep our eye on them for dust, we feel strongly that the collection of memorabilia, gnomes, reflect the quaintness of the cottage and of our humour, we prefer adding a bit of character as opposed to the blandness of other rents. You mentioned that your elderly friend of 93, found it difficult to gain access to the furniture and to the accommodation, this is extremely useful information, and we will respond by warning future renters that the cottage is totally unsuitable for elderly and infirm. The bath mat comment, there is always a bath mat and someone must have removed it by mistake, for that we will monitor, regarding a hand rail, we do not think this is required. Constructive comments are always useful for an owner to address, and your comments regarding light and the garden are welcome, and we will be investigating those to ensure that customer satisfaction is of the utmost. It is interesting how different tastes apply, as one can see from the customer who rented immediately before you, who loved the cottage, the pictures, all of the contents and the ambience……. and gave us 9 out of 10.
