Description

Perfect for getting away from it all, this lovely apartment offers a private swimming pool, large balcony and beautiful vineyard views.

Set within a stunning wine domain in beautiful settings, this is the only holiday apartment, and enjoys private use of the large swimming pool overlooking the vineyards and olive trees. There is also a restaurant serving local produce near the apartment, which is open in the evenings in July and August. The first floor wing accommodation is immaculate and very well presented. Its very large balcony is ideal for dining al-fresco enjoying a glass of wine that began its life only metres from the doorway. When at the domain the impression is one of being miles from anywhere yet the lively town of Saint Ambroix is only 600m, with shops, restaurants, and bars, some located on the pretty banks of the River Ceze (1.5 km). The possibilities for day excursion are varied and await in all directions. The Cevennes regional nature park is to the west and the Gorges de l’Ardèche to the east. If it is not just beautiful scenery that’s required head south to discover some of the most visited sites of France. The Pont-du-Gard, one of the wonders of the ancient world. Uzés famous for its pottery and impressive Saturday market which invades the whole of the town centre. The historical towns of Nîmes and Avignon are both within 80km, and only slightly further afield the nature park of La Camargue and the golden sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. Shop and restaurant 0.7km, café/bar 0.5km.

Approximate distance to Nîmes airport is 59 km.

All on first floor: Lounge/kitchen/diner, 1 twin bedroom (can also be kingsize) with en-suite shower, toilet and basin, sofa bed in lounge.

Electric heating, DVD player, CD player, wi-fi, freezer, microwave, lawned garden, terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, outdoor swimming pool (private, 40m², open Jun-Sep weather permitting), off road parking for 2 cars. Sorry, no pets.

Ok so where do I start,we stayed at this cottage for 3 weeks in September and wow what a place. The place is stunning. The apartment it self is bigger than we thought and very nicely presented, very clean with everything you need plus extras, it even has washing machine which was not advertised. The bed is huge and very comfy. The private pool is just opposite the apartment and a very nice place to relax in the sun with some of the vine yards own wine( although not heated you get used to it). The views over the vine yards it superb and great to watch the harvest in September. Although we speak very little French and the owner very little English this was not a problem as the lovely Dutch lady who works in the shop speaks perfect English. We had fresh bread and pastries left every few days, another great touch. St Ambroix itself has everything you need and lots more. We almost don't want to recommend this place in case it gets to busy and we can not book again, a great find that we can not recommend enough. We will definitely go back.

We enjoyed everything about this holiday. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and the location in the midst of a working vineyard, even when we were wakened very early in the morning by the sounds of the vendange, was perfect. The village of St Ambroix is within walking distance with a good variety of shops and there is a supermarket only a few minutes away by car.

My husband and I had never visited this region before but OMG we were blown away. The area is amazing the people are lovely. We shall definitely be returning for more good weather good wine and great food. Bernard and Christine are amazing hosts and their wine and if you happen to go in July and August pop up restaurant are to die for. We had a few communication difficulties because they don't speak English and we speak very little French but please don't let this put you off. We can't wait to return

The apartment is pleasant but the best part of this accommodation is, by far, the pool. Large surround with covered area with sink, fridge and gas cooker [similar to barbie but not the same] and walled in. Superb! One thing to know is that it's not attached to the flat and is across the small car park. Owners speak no English. Their wines, available in the little shop are well worth trying! Very little in St Ambroix though, bit disappointing.
