It is difficult to find a cottage that sleeps 8 people on Exmoor, and this fitted the bill well with a few reservations. The two double bedrooms and the back twin room were fine, but the middle twin room is small, needs to have the window panes in the door changed to wood, and is very noisy if it rains or indeed has been raining because of the rain/raindrops coming off the thatch onto the porch roof below so that means sleepless nights. In order to lessen the noise, the occupants had to sleep with the window closed, which meant the room was hot. I also think it would be good if the light pulls were shortened and had a nice pull put on the ends. And the bathrooms/shower rooms could do with modernising.

Really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Ideal centre for visiting Exmoor and the seaside. Nice village, nice pub though the tiny shop (only open for very limited hours) meant we had to plan shopping well ahead and make sure not to run out of essentials. The large dining table was a great advantage as we could all sit round it comfortably (5 adults and 4 children), the garden was well maintained and large enough for the occasional ball game and the whole house was pleasant and homely. It was decided that the single bedroom was too small for Granny (not even room for an open suitcase), so we move the mattress into the larger double room and the kids all slept together with two of them top and tailing on the mattress. This was fine for us, but maybe you could consider turning the second downstairs lounge into another bedroom? We barelyused it at all. Also, if there's room, could the fridge door be hung the other way round? Altogether a great place. Can't say that much for the weather though we had a couple of sunny days!

We had a lovely weekend stay here with two other couples and their children (ages 3 to 8). We found everything we needed, the cooking range is great for meals as is the pantry and there are plenty of bathrooms etc. and we had nice log-burner fires each night. Good location for reaching Exmoor attractions and near to the beautiful Tarr Steps. Owner was very helpful when I thought I'd left my laptop power cable after the visit. Would definitely stay here again.
