fabulous cottage, beautifully appointed (photos don't do the place credit - even though they are stunning), great communication with owner, lovely welcome treats - a wonderful retreat in an idyllic location - couldn't ask for any more!

There over Christmas and a decorated lit tree there to welcome the family - plus a welcome pack and bubbly! Plus wood for the fire. Owner very attentive to our needs and local info. It was a luxurious holiday never to gorget.

Great cottage and lovely place to stay but got to be prepared to travel for basic amenities as The village has very little there but this didn't really affect our stay as we planned to go out and about on our travels

This really is a lovely cottage in a very special spot. It's spotlessly clean, modern (inc good wifi - vital with teens) and bigger than it looks. The open-plan ground floor, spiral staircase and mezzanine are really cool. There's enough within walking distance for your basics - a Spar, pubs, post office, nice restaurant, etc - yet the village is wonderfully peaceful and very pretty, arranged in a pin-neat strip along the shoreline. We went in late October and were blessed with unseasonal sunshine. I really wanted to light the log-burning stove every night, but the place was just too cosy to need it! The owners were very kind and attentive, but never intrusive. It's always a good sign when you start to imagine yourself living in the cottage - and I had to be dragged back to the city after our trip! Thoroughly recommended and thanks for a lovely stay! We'll be back, I hope.

Stunning possibly the most beautiful part of the world we have visited. So much to see and do ideal for walks along side the loch. We took the ferry over to Tarbot had lunch at the Duck Bay marina on Loch Lomond. took a visit to the Inverary jail saw our first shinty match (hockey with attitude) had a day out in Killin to watch the highland games. We also explored the beautiful village of Tighnebruich taking many walks and meeting lots of the friendliest people. We had great fun with the scarecrow hunt loved it. So much more to do that we have already booked for next year. Beware the midges they love to bite we wore so soft which kept them a way!!!mostly

We had a magical week at Royal Cottage. After quite a long drive up from Surrey we were greeted by the owners who were very helpful, explaining everything we needed to know. Our stay at Royal Cottage was perfect and everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage. Having never visited this part of Scotland we were keen to explore and we managed a visit over to Tarbert and Inverary both of which were beautiful. We were extremely lucky with glorious sunshine everyday and spent a couple of afternoons swimming in the outside pool at Portavadie Marina followed by a delicious pizza. The locals of Tighnabruaich were very friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. The midges were a bit annoying but we used our Smidge repellent which seemed to keep them away. We would love to go back to Royal Cottage one day and explore some more.

Cottage was well equipped and met our high expectations. There was enough space so we ( 3 couples ) could relax and do our own thing when we wanted and the large dining table allowed us to eat and socialise together. The separate seating area upstairs was suitable for reading & working. Very light space with all the large windows in the open plan living area. Beds were comfortable and all linen and towels fresh and good quality.
