Wonderful holiday! We spent a week here for our honeymoon and just loved it. The cottage was fantastic - beautifully decorated, cosy, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The garden was idyllic, we enjoyed watching the many garden birds that visited every day and as the weather was kind to us during our stay, we had great use of the various outdoor seating areas. The location was also superb, close to Broadford for shops and pubs etc yet still very quiet and we had plenty of privacy. We felt it was a great base for exploring the island. Would definitely love to go back to Rowan Tree Cottage again.

Had a lovely time here. The cottage was well equipped, cosy and had everything we needed. A very generous welcome pack was left for us. The local Co-op was also excellent. Out with the owner's control was the Skye weather but no worries there. Some beautiful weather to enhance the stunning scenery. Would we go back? You bet!! Already booked the cottage for next year

Very comfortable cottage in beautiful rural setting, but close enough to village for eating out, shops and other amenities.

Well equipped cottage, the barbecue hut is a great asset. Bedrooms are much smaller than they appear in images on the website. Persons taller than 1.80 meter touch the bedroom ceiling when standing upright. Also dining room has very little space to move around the table. Altogether a good place to stay for a week, but quite expensive.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to review our property. The original house started off as a thatched black house some 170 years ago so within the confines of that we have sought to modernise and bring it into the 21st century as best we can. Crofters in that time were no doubt of smaller stature but I would like to clarify ( for other guests benefit) that as someone who is 6 foot (183cm) my head doesn’t touch the ceilings upstairs. Therefore although the ceilings are lower upstairs than current houses they are not so low that someone of my height would need to stoop. The way the house has been extended upstairs also means much more of the space is at full height as opposed to the sloping ceilings on both sides of rooms that some traditional croft houses have. I am afraid that the ceiling heights in the original house are one thing that I can’t change but think in any event they add to the charm. We will certainly look at the layout of the dining room again to make sure the best use of the space is made. Best wishes for future travels.
