The only down side to the propety is the stairs. The treads are very narrow and there is no proper hand rail or grips. This could prove very difficult because of no toilet up the stairs. Some people with even a slight mobility difficulty will find it dangerous as I did. I feel it should be mentioned in your description of the house facilities.

We loved our stay at Rowan tree cottage. One of the best equipped cottages we've ever used and the barbecue hut was fab! The setting and location are excellent. Kids loved the stream in the garden and we had a proper "away from it all" break. Highly recommended.

The best part of this property was the lounge extension - it was really nice and comfortable. The main problem for me was the sloping ceiling in the main (double) bedroom that made getting in/out of the bed without banging your head each time very tiresome. As this is a converted crofters cottage the rooms are quite small and could really benefit from some improved lighting particularly in the bathroom and kitchen. We didn't use the indoor BBQ hut but I can imagine that would be a lot of fun for families to use on a rainy day. The location of the property is very good as it's not too far from the mainland and you are only a few minutes away from Broadford with its excellent Co-op store and fuel station.

I used Rowan Tree Cottage as a base for kayaking around Skye, the location was ideal and the property did not disappoint. I would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on Skye. I certainly will be back.
