Very comfortable cottage in beautiful rural setting, but close enough to village for eating out, shops and other amenities.

Well equipped cottage, the barbecue hut is a great asset. Bedrooms are much smaller than they appear in images on the website. Persons taller than 1.80 meter touch the bedroom ceiling when standing upright. Also dining room has very little space to move around the table. Altogether a good place to stay for a week, but quite expensive.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to review our property. The original house started off as a thatched black house some 170 years ago so within the confines of that we have sought to modernise and bring it into the 21st century as best we can. Crofters in that time were no doubt of smaller stature but I would like to clarify ( for other guests benefit) that as someone who is 6 foot (183cm) my head doesn’t touch the ceilings upstairs. Therefore although the ceilings are lower upstairs than current houses they are not so low that someone of my height would need to stoop. The way the house has been extended upstairs also means much more of the space is at full height as opposed to the sloping ceilings on both sides of rooms that some traditional croft houses have. I am afraid that the ceiling heights in the original house are one thing that I can’t change but think in any event they add to the charm. We will certainly look at the layout of the dining room again to make sure the best use of the space is made. Best wishes for future travels.

Great place (unless you are a very tall person. Upstairs ceilings are quite low)

This rental was great. There were a few minor faults with the property. The kitchen tap was really hard to turn off and the upstairs ceiling was very low. The men bumped there heads several times on the light fixtures. The stairs are quite steep and a few poeple fell down them. Everything else was great.

A lovely cottage for exploring Skye. Warm and comfortable. Pity the weather didn't allow us to enjoy the garden more. We loved the sitting area with the view on the landing and the large new sitting room. Yes the ceilings are low upstairs but we're all tall and it wasn't a problem.
