Set amidst spectacular scenery

This detached chalet in Glenmoriston offers the ideal base for exploring the Western Highlands. Locally you can enjoy forest walks, fishing, bird watching and pony trekking. Loch Ness is 8 miles away and Fort Augustus, where boat trips can be arranged is 13 miles. Watching the various pleasure crafts negotiate the locks in the heart of the village is extremely popular as is the golf course and historic abbey. Glenmoriston is on the road to Skye via Shiel Bridge (an area popular with "Munro Baggers" and its Five Sisters of Kintail). A round trip returning via the Glenelg ferry takes in some breath taking scenery - a camera is a must. Set in six acres of secluded grounds with superb views over the Glen, these properties offer cosy and well equipped accommodation. Shop, pub and restaurant 7 miles.

Steps to entrance. All on ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

    Could be improved greatly with a small wardrobe in each bedroom. Double glazing to cut down the awful traffic noise from the road. Could do with another work top in the kitchen and a washing machine. We had booked for two weeks and with the best will in the world needed to wash a few items and there was nothing. Was also shocked to have to pay separately for the electric used which seemed quite expensive. We weren't told about that till we got there. Could do with a new sofa as they were very uncomfortable and you could feel the wooden frame on your legs through the padding.

We take all comments very seriously to see whether we can improve the chalet, space will always be a limiting factor but we’ve tried to fit in the necessities to ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay. This is a rural location and the chalet is set in 6 acres of private grounds in one of the most scenic Glens in the Highlands, and is 120 metres from the road so we are surprised by the comment about the traffic noise. Other guests comment on how peaceful and tranquil the area is and a great place for total relaxation. Electricity by meter reading is clearly stated on the website and the cost is as charged by the electricity provider, no profit is made from this. We would have been happy to chat through your concerns on the contact telephone number left in the chalet to see whether we could have made your stay more pleasurable.

    This was a last minute booking as we are normally caravan people but due to my husbands health at the minute just needed a get away. Well what a lovely surprise, we had no idea that just two chalets were there, we expected to be amongst lots of others. A better place for peace and quiet you could not find. The chalet has everything you could need and John came to explain everything on our first night then we were left to enjoy total relaxation. This was just what we needed and our dog enjoyed the freedom too.Had a lovely trip to Skye and ate out in Fort Augustas with the dog and he got very used to getting biscuits in The Bothy and the food was great too. We would not hesitate to book again and if ever we cant use the caravan again in the future we will do so. Loved the old retired sheep in the field opposite!

    Very well presented and clean. Everything as stated, was ideal as a base to explore local area. Local cafe changing hands but new owners appear committed to maintain standards. No issues parking our motor bikes as good hard standing. Everything was ready when we arrived with hot water and even the fridge cold. Would definitely stay again.
