A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Just a short stroll to the beach and enjoying a cosy electric woodburner and a lawned garden, this holiday property is ideal all year round.

Nestled in the midst of the ancient coastal hamlet of Lansallos, Rosslyn provides peace and quiet in a spectacular part of Cornwall. Adjacent to the owners’ home, it is just a short stroll down to the smugglers’ beach, Lansallos cove - a sandy beach backed by stunning scenery and the Cornish coastal path. Looe, with its working harbour, golf club, sea fishing and river trips is close by, as is the village of Polperro with its model village, narrow streets and fishing boats that sway on the tide in the harbour. A little further afield is the seafaring town of Fowey, a stylish mecca for sailing and with a river that’s perfect for kayaking. The annual royal regatta sees the town swell in numbers as locals and tourists take part in the festivities. Plymouth, the city by the ocean, is easily reached and provides a great day out with shopping, cinemas, theatres and the historic quarter right on the waterfront. The fabulous Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanhydrock House with its network of wooded off-road walking and cycling trails, are all within easy reach and make a fantastic day out. Horse riding, golf, walking and kayaking are all available nearby. Beach ½ mile. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. 32" Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. No children under 5 years. NB: 2 steps in garden.

We had the most fabulous stay at Rosslyn over Christmas. Our hosts could not have been more hospitable and accommodating and the welcome gifts for us and the children were very much appreciated. The cottage is set up with everything you could need, and Debbie and Colin are on hand if you've forgotten to pack that Christmas essential (teeny screwdrivers!). I was expecting the cottage to be chilly, and packed accordingly. It was actually warmer than home and the children just loved laying down in front of the heater in the lounge. Although you are someway from town the walk to the beach was 20 mins and the cove was so much fun for two small children. The only thing that the cottage was lacking was an outside light for when you are parking up at night otherwise this cosy cottage was a perfect home from home and we do hope to spend another Christmas here in a year or two!

Lovely unspoilt cottage. Helpful owners live next door. Lots of lovely walks - along the coast and down to the bay. No local shops or pubs and that might deter some. Great for a get away from it holiday.

The owners make you extremely welcome. The cottage was fitted with everything you could want albeit dated. Too rural for our liking but that should not put others off. We took our dog but beware owners who are adjacent have a dog and cat too. Disappointed with the weather which can not be helped. Lots of unnamed roads to travel on so if nervous driver be aware that single tracks with passing places occasionally can be a bit hairy as locals drive like Stirling moss!

The owners were lovely and very welcoming. Sorry to say that the cottage wasn't what I expected. On arrival I noticed that it hasn't been cleaned for a while and there was dust everywhere. I actually took it upon myself to clean it especially the kitchen floor which was filthy. The cottage also smelt extremely damp downstairs and it could do with looking at as a matter of urgency. I know that this is an old cottage but the smell was extremely unplesant. I am not sure why the previous reviewers would say that it was spotlessly clean because it certainly wasn't. The owners could also invest in new mattresses for both rooms. Both myself and my son were extremely uncomfortable on the mattresses provided.

We had a lovely stay at Rosslyn. The cottage was very well equiped. We were welcomed with a lovely cream tea. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Our daughter wanted to do some horseback riding and she gave us the adresses where to find a facility. We had a comfortable and carefree holiday.

Nice cottage in quiet location, could do with a little freshening up, but was perfect for us for the week. Owners are a lovely couple and nothing is too much trouble.

Generally quite grim, garden furniture too moody to sit on, very lonely overgrown path with nothing nearby. We didn't even stay the whole trip

Cottage could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly. Also one would expect not to ha to provide their own loo paper
