Description

Retaining original character, this attractive property is situated in 5 acres of landscaped gardens including a tennis court and heated swimming pool.

Shared outdoor swimming pool

The Tudor part of the beautiful former vicarage has been renovated whilst retaining original character, to provide spacious holiday accommodation close to the coastal regions of West Somerset. The Gatehouse is an attractive two storey holiday home which is within the Rossholme grounds. The cottages are situated in 5 acres of lawns and landscaped gardens, with shared use of a hard tennis court and outdoor heated swimming pool during the summer months. Each property has a barbecue area and views over open countryside. A function room seating 60 is available on site by prior arrangement with the owner, and catering can be arranged. East Brent lies at the foot of Brent Knoll, a 450ft high hill that has the remains of an ancient Celtic camp on its summit with views of the Quantocks, Bridgwater Bay, the Bristol Channel, the Mendips and South Wales. With easy access to the M5, the village is only minutes from the coast; Weston-Super-Mare and Sand Bay have sandy beaches and family attractions, whilst the smaller resorts of Clevedon and Burnham on Sea retain an atmosphere of a bygone era. Axbridge is 5 miles, and the caves and gorge at Cheddar, 6 miles. For walking and cycling, the Quantocks, the Mendips, the Somerset Levels and Exmoor are close by. Shop 1 mile, pub 600 yards.

We had a great time at Rossholme. Perfect accommodation and location for 8 adults and 8 kids. Beautiful house and grounds, plenty of space. In particular, a fabulous kitchen-diner for meals together. We all really enjoyed ourselves.

We were a group of 15, celebrating a significant birthday. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome even though the owner had literally just arrived back from a trip away. Everything we requested was provided and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well equiped. Although the weather was distinctly wet, it didn't hinder us in any way. The location is brilliant. There are plenty of walks to suit all ages and abilities. The 5 minute walk to the local pub suited everybody. Thank you for making this occasion so very special.

This did not tick all the boxes for us as we were expecting a private house when we booked also some of the things did not match our expectations, also no me mention of suitability for people of resticted mobility. The problems we had when we were there did not get sorted out really to our satisfaction.

My family of 14 had a wonderful week at Rossholme. The accommodation was great, the family particularly enjoyed the swimming pool which was used a lot! We were able to relax, have bbqs, Sunday roast, lots of card games in the evening. The type of holiday when you don't have to plan days out, but could just enjoy the surroundings and relax. The children all slept well and the adults really chilled out and had a great time. Would love to stay there again.
