Had a great stay at Rosemary Cottage. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is on hand. The location of the cottage is ideal, very quiet but only a 5 minute walk from the village centre. Top tip: if you are bringing 2 cars there's only one space at the front of the cottage for a Picasso/S-Max/Safira type. Use the car park space at the rear for the 2nd car.

STAYED 4-11TH MARCH 2016:- 4 ADULTS+ 1 Child of 2 and a baby aged 1 . Lovely house. Great to have 3 bathrooms. So easy to just walk out to Bourton on the Water with kids in tow.Only thing we disliked, which seems other reviewers agreed with, is the throws on the 2 sofas and chair in lounge.(but we can understand why they were there)We spent ages every day, trying to put them back on the suite, to no avail, as they just slipped straight off, as soon as you moved. But hey, this wouldn't be a reason not to stay here.Would also have liked a bigger oven glove for safety in the kitchen, as we only found a pot holder one, which was tiny. Thought all the beds were very comfortable, and we all had good Wi-Fi reception in the house. Maybe worth mentioning, that we had difficulty parking at the back space of the garden sometimes, as we were blocked in by inconsiderate parking on road opposite the space.(people were parking when it said NO PARKING) so very difficult to manoeuvre in and out.No problems at all parking in spaces at the front of the property.Thank you very much for the lovely Chocs.

The cottage was well equipped, warm and clean. Could do without the little carpet mats and the sofa covers!

On first viewing the property appears to be lovely, however when examined more closely there are things which could be improved. Please see list below: 1. The covers on the furniture were irritating and uncomfortable. 2. The mats all over the house are also irritating, keep moving and are a trip hazard. 3. The promised welcome pack turned into a box of Lidl chocolates. 4. The welcome card was addressed to the wrong people. 5. There was mould in all of the bathrooms. 6. There was an unpleasant odour in the dining room/sun room. 7. There was an empty crisp packet under the chair in the living room. 8. There was no cafetiere. 9. The wording in the welcome folder was abrupt and implied that visitors should use the back entrance to the property. Overall enough to make one feel that they weren't really welcome at all.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry you didn’t find Rosemary Cottage to your liking. We would respond to your comments as follows: 1 and 2: The covers and rugs are a necessity. The leather suite needs an element of protection and there is no other way of doing this. The offending rugs could have been taken up and stored for the duration of your stay if this would have improved the quality of your stay at the cottage. 3. There are several items included in the Welcome Pack but the chocolates are not one of them. They are a personal little gift from us as Owners to our guests which is not obligatory. Whereas I acknowledge that the chocolates vary from time to time, there is no lack of quality in what we leave; it is down to availability at the time. I take great exception to your comment. A plentiful supply of tea, coffee, sugar and sweeteners are left on the kitchen worktop, along with cotton buds, make up pads and quality soap in all the bathrooms and the cloakroom. 4. The Welcome Card was an unfortunate mistake. We like to leave a personal welcome card for our guests and this was the only time we have ever got it wrong and we are truly sorry for this. 5. The bathrooms are treated for any mould and repainted, if needed, every three months. We are due to do this the first week in December. I fail to see how they could all be as bad as you suggested. 6. We have had the “odour” in the dining room checked and nothing could be found. 7. Our housekeeper is very thorough and we are surprised to hear about the crisp packet. We are sorry that this was missed. 8. There are two cafetieres in the kitchen cupboard, one small and one large. 9. We have had guests staying at Rosemary Cottage for many seasons and never before have we been told that our Welcome Pack is unwelcoming. We have guests who come every year which indicates the opposite. The folder is compiled so as to be informative and concise, containing instructions for use of appliances etc. and suggestions as to how to get the best out of Rosemary Cottage. At no time did you contact us, or our housekeeper, to say that there was a problem. We would have gladly shown you where to find the containers marked tea, coffee and sugar (next to the kettle) and where the cafetieres were kept. Other arrangements could have been made for the rugs and covers. I feel sure that most of your problems could have been resolved easily. We truly care about our guests. This is why I took the time to telephone you when I read your review to clarify the problems you had encountered. Sadly, this was a particularly unpleasant encounter following your very unfair assessment of the cottage.

The cottage needs updating. Twin beds need new mattresses. Oven door seal needs replacing to stop water going on floor. Fantastic location good parking. Nice sofas in lounge. Plenty of bathrooms. Enjoyable Holiday.

We had a really lovely week at Rosemary Cottage. There was ample room for five adults and a toddler. The two or three minute walk into the centre of Bourton on the Water makes the cottage in an ideal location. Also the parking for three cars was a huge advantage.
