Enjoying superb views, this fantastic 16th-century barn has its own secure garden - perfect for a summer evening barbecue!

Lying peacefully on the banks of the glistening River Teifi within extensive grounds and on a 91-acre working farm, these traditional, Welsh barn conversions (refs JUK, JUL, OAM and OFA) have been converted to a very good standard and offer a perfect base for a family or couples looking to explore the dramatic coastline and rugged mountains of west Wales. Conveniently located just 2 miles away from the charming, market town of Cardigan, Rosehill Farm is situated well off the beaten track and is surrounded by rolling terrain where horses, goats and lambs call home. On the approach to the farm, guests will be greeted with spectacular views of the River Teifi, which is famously renowned for its freshwater salmon and trout fishing, and superb water based activities including kayaking and sailing. Each cottage has been sympathetically restored to uncover much of its original charm and character, including exposed beams and stone walls, and traditional wood-burning stoves have been added to provide a wonderful ambience for those cosy nights in. Outside, guests can relax on their own private patio area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day’s adventure whilst watching the red kites and peregrine falcons soar over the magnificent scenery.
Close to the iconic Pembrokeshire National Park, guests can ramble the majestic Preseli Hills and discover picturesque walks and ancient monuments, including the Bronze Age burial chamber of Pentre Ifan Dolmen, which stands beautifully in rugged terrain. The nearby market towns of Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen are all rich with Welsh culture and offer a selection of traditional pubs, boutique and antique gift shops, along with some restaurants waiting to be explored. The magnificent coastline is just a short drive away and is home to golden beaches, horseshoe coves and the pretty coastal towns of Newport, New Quay and Aberaeron, which are set in tranquil fishing harbours where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day. For an interesting day out, take a scenic drive to Britain’s smallest city of St David’s and discover its 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops’s Palace, or take a sea safari around the off-shore island of Ramsey, cruising close to seabirds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Shops and pub 2 miles.

This converted early 16th-century barn has been cleverly designed in upside-down’ style, with the living areas on the upper level to take advantage of the views. It has its own secure garden facing south-east, and enjoys shared use of a courtyard with steps up to further terraces. Spacious and beamed, open-plan living room with rugs on wooden floor. Farmhouse-style kitchen with dining area and electric cooker. Lower ground floor: Double bedroom with 6ft bed and en-suite shower room with toilet. Twin bedroom with door to courtyard (shared with the owners). Single bedroom with additional pull-out bed. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Apart from the troublesome & noisey Saniflo unit in the ensuite bathroom, the cottage was great and we had a fantastic week.

It was an excellent holiday trip. We were 19 people in total , booked 3 nearby cottages in RoseHill. Good location and close to nature. Kids enjoyed very well . We felt the actual Village and farm experience

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We were met by goats and sheep who wandered freely around the cottages, much to our delight. The cottage had lovely comfy beds and thick cotton towels in the bathroom. Let down however by tatty old curtains and blinds. The blinds need replacing - I could roll them down but not up again as the fittings fell apart. The bedroom curtain tie-backs were attached to the wall on picture hooks (?) rather than proper fittings in the wall. Another downside was the heating - or lack of. It was really cold (February) and without a wood burner or additional heaters, we struggled to stay warm. Eventually my husband looked at the radiators and realised they needed bleeding. He spent some time doing this and eventually it was a little warmer. There was also no dvd player for the tv. With young kids, and no wifi, an afternoon film would have been a good way to relax at the end of a busy day out. Attention to these small but important details would make this otherwise lovely cottage, a place I'd definitely return to.

Nice place but let down by some key items being missing such as cafetière, potato peeler, water jug, dust pan and brush, grill pan, ironing board (there was an iron!), DVD player. We knew about lack of wifi but it would have been so much better if we'd had it. Welcome pack was limited to a scourer and a dishwasher tablet. Also we arrived in the dark, the key was in the door but no lights on anywhere. No instructions as to how to turn the heating on although we have a similar controller so managed it fine. Visually impressive but Lacked finesse. We did have a relaxing week though as the cafetière and jug were provided when we asked (we noticed the lack of other things later) and the house was warm and towels very soft (new, judging by the lint).
