Description

Situated on a 91-acre working farm, ideally situated to explore Cardigan Bay and the surrounding areas.

Lying peacefully on the banks of the glistening River Teifi within extensive grounds and on a 91-acre working farm, these traditional, Welsh barn conversions (refs JUK, JUL, OAM and OFA) have been converted to a very good standard and offer a perfect base for a family or couples looking to explore the dramatic coastline and rugged mountains of west Wales. Conveniently located just 2 miles away from the charming, market town of Cardigan, Rosehill Farm is situated well off the beaten track and is surrounded by rolling terrain where horses, goats and lambs call home. On the approach to the farm, guests will be greeted with spectacular views of the River Teifi, which is famously renowned for its freshwater salmon and trout fishing, and superb water based activities including kayaking and sailing. Each cottage has been sympathetically restored to uncover much of its original charm and character, including exposed beams and stone walls, and traditional wood-burning stoves have been added to provide a wonderful ambience for those cosy nights in. Outside, guests can relax on their own private patio area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day’s adventure whilst watching the red kites and peregrine falcons soar over the magnificent scenery.
Close to the iconic Pembrokeshire National Park, guests can ramble the majestic Preseli Hills and discover picturesque walks and ancient monuments, including the Bronze Age burial chamber of Pentre Ifan Dolmen, which stands beautifully in rugged terrain. The nearby market towns of Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen are all rich with Welsh culture and offer a selection of traditional pubs, boutique and antique gift shops, along with some restaurants waiting to be explored. The magnificent coastline is just a short drive away and is home to golden beaches, horseshoe coves and the pretty coastal towns of Newport, New Quay and Aberaeron, which are set in tranquil fishing harbours where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day. For an interesting day out, take a scenic drive to Britain’s smallest city of St David’s and discover its 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops’s Palace, or take a sea safari around the off-shore island of Ramsey, cruising close to seabirds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Shops and pub 2 miles.

Open-plan living/dining room with wood-burning stove and sliding patio doors overlooking the river and garden. Kitchen area with modern fitted units. First floor (sloping ceilings lobby only): Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower cubicle and toilet.

A lovely, comfortable, cottage with stunning views over the river. Very isolated and quiet location approx. half a mile down a farm track. Any amenities were a car journey away. Fantastic wildlife including herons, otters, sandpipers etc. Also located near a very good wildlife park. Friendly non-intrusive owners. Log fire with unlimited supply of fuel. Only drawbacks were minimal cutlery etc. ,a lack of cleaning materials and the lack of an enclosed garden for the dogs.

There was a few things that need updating. The fridge was really noisy, the kitchen needs updating, the oven didn't work that well, no shower and the spare bed mattresses need new ones, the seating outside was all broken and really not safe

Teifi is a lovely roomy cottage within a peaceful area with plenty of room outside to enjoy the space and beautiful location. The cottage had more than enough room for two of us with two dogs, and a great 'garden' for the dogs to run and play in with a fantastic view of the river.

A very relaxing holiday. The cottage provided privacy and peace and quiet in a picturesque setting. The proximity to the market town of Cardigan meant it is a good base for exploring west wales. As soon as we got back I booked for next year!

Absolutely fantastic location but the property itself lets it down. The kitchen is not very well equipped. The beds were very uncomfortable, there is no shower and only enough hot water for one bath which was very inconvenient. The wifi is non existent. If you want to use the washing machine it's up the road in an outbuilding shared with the other home there. The property, for the price paid for a week we thought would lend itself to quite a luxurious accommodation but this is not the case here. In spite of the lack of sleep (due to beds) we had a good week, the location is lovely on the banks of the Teifi. A very quiet, peaceful location. Easy to reach numerous beaches including Newport, Parrog, Poppit sands and Aberporth and Tresaith. We had some great meals out at The ship Inn, Tresaith. The Webley hotel at Poppit sands and Sampan boat restaurant in Cardigan. We would not stay here at this accommodation again but the location, yes definitely would. The Welsh Wildlife centre is a must, great walks there. Good place for the children.

The cottage was lovely and the views were amazing! Definitely the best we've ever had. The place was very cold when we arrived. Upstairs there were heaters which were quite efficient but downstairs the main heat came from the wood burner. We had it lit by about 3:30 every day and by the second day the cottage had warmed up. We could have as much wood as we wanted. It was still chilly in the morning though, so I would think twice about going in the winter. It had recently been updated with new curtains and bedding. The kitchen had everything we needed except a wire rack in the grill. There were lots of utensils. Take some essentials with you, our Tesco delivery was delayed and we had no loo roll or tea bags! There was lots of information about local sights, eating places etc and the owner was friendly and helpful. Our dog loved having a big open space to run around!
