Welsh Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

Enjoy use of you very own private hot tub, watch the stars with a glass of wine and take in the views of the sublime Welsh countryside.

Lying peacefully on the banks of the glistening River Teifi within extensive grounds and on a 91-acre working farm, these traditional, Welsh barn conversions (refs JUK, JUL, OAM and OFA) have been converted to a very good standard and offer a perfect base for a family or couples looking to explore the dramatic coastline and rugged mountains of west Wales. Conveniently located just 2 miles away from the charming, market town of Cardigan, Rosehill Farm is situated well off the beaten track and is surrounded by rolling terrain where horses, goats and lambs call home. On the approach to the farm, guests will be greeted with spectacular views of the River Teifi, which is famously renowned for its freshwater salmon and trout fishing, and superb water based activities including kayaking and sailing. Each cottage has been sympathetically restored to uncover much of its original charm and character, including exposed beams and stone walls. Outside, guests can relax on their own private patio area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day’s adventure whilst watching the red kites and peregrine falcons soar over the magnificent scenery.
Close to the iconic Pembrokeshire National Park, guests can ramble the majestic Preseli Hills and discover picturesque walks and ancient monuments, including the Bronze Age burial chamber of Pentre Ifan Dolmen, which stands beautifully in rugged terrain. The nearby market towns of Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen are all rich with Welsh culture and offer a selection of traditional pubs, boutique and antique gift shops, along with some restaurants waiting to be explored. The magnificent coastline is just a short drive away and is home to golden beaches, horseshoe coves and the pretty coastal towns of Newport, New Quay and Aberaeron, which are set in tranquil fishing harbours where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day. For an interesting day out, take a scenic drive to Britain’s smallest city of St David’s and discover its 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops’s Palace, or take a sea safari around the off-shore island of Ramsey, cruising close to seabirds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Shops and pub 2 miles.

Open-plan living/dining room with doors to small patio and sloping lawns beyond. Kitchen area with modern fitted units. Conservatory. Double bedroom with en-suite wet room and toilet. First floor (sloping ceilings throughout): Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with toilet.

I stayed in the DERI cottage with my husband our one year old, two friends came for the weekend and then my father and mother in law came to stay one night also. After a six hour car journey from Derbyshire; all of us agreed it was a wonderful place to stay, with the hot tub making our visit extra special and relaxing. The night sky was stunning. Definitely worth the travelling! Fantastic facilities and location second to none. We loved the layout of the cottage with the master double situated downstairs with an en-suite meaning that our friends could have their privacy with us using the bathroom upstairs. Beds extremely comfortable. We liked the original features that Nikki has thoughtfully preserved. Beautiful view of the river from our patio. We have a large log burner at home so my husband was very surprised to see how much heat the modest sized one in the cottage kicked out, he even managed to bank it in for the night for it to still be ticking over the following morning! Our son enjoyed running on the large lawn and watching the cebeebies channel after running around all day on the beach. He slept snugly in the travelcot provided at night. Nikki is a lovely person and great host. She was there to help without being in the least bit intrusive. After reading the negative reviews we decided to come with an open mind, with our group consisting of a young family, a young couple and an older couple i think we can span a number of categories and couldn't fault it, after speaking to our neighbour in the adjoining cottage she said she and her partner couldn't believe some of the less savoury comments either, and to be frank neither could we, so to clarify some of them; There is plenty of hot water and nothing wrong with the power of the showers. I needed to keep an eye on my e-mails while we were away i had no problem doing that or accessing FB. However we had come away to have a break from it all so didn't feel the need to spend huge chunks of the day using the wifi. The TV is a perfectly adequate size my son had no issues seeing what was on the screen whilst sat on the sofa and neither did we(!) We did a lot of cooking between us all, the only thing i couldn't find was a garlic crusher, but obviously the lack on one just meant we crushed it manually no problem. Not entirely sure what people are talking about regarding an apparent lack of knives, there were two paring knives a long serrated bread knife and steak knives as well as eating knives, and plenty of crockery for our use. There was a lighter to use to light the fire We really enjoyed every moment are can't wait to return.

Good holiday. Excellent location. Shame that the Wi-Fi was not functioning. A good sharp knife in the kitchen would have been handy but understand why not provided.

Great location. Comfortable beds, pleasant conservatory. Main problem poor shower in upstairs bathroom little water, little headroom if you choose to have a bath. Kitchen really insufficient plates, bowls. No soup bowls or spoons. Could also do with been upgraded e.g provision of chopping boards, cafetière, tumblers etc. Visitors book? Leaflets on local attractions would enhance this otherwise lovely holiday cottage.

Not much good to say really. Location is really nice and this could be a lovely cottage but it's let down by so many things. Please don't advertise as having WiFi if there isn't. I know its a beautiful location but if you say you have WiFi I expect there to at least a faint signal. Kitchen was lacking on a few basics that the owner said she'd drop off and never did. Main source of heating is the wood burner which is fine and cosy. Plenty of free wood - but how were we expected to light it without any matches? And the carbon monoxide alarm (kind of important with fire) was under the sink with the batteries missing. Plenty of towels provided, but I could have sanded the woodwork with them they were that rough. Never found out where the shared washing machine was located or the owners tumble drier. Not the cleanest of properties either.

We stayed in Deri with our big family and then moved to Teifi when they had gone. Whilst both are lovely, teifi has amazing unhindered views and stole our hearts. Lovely magical place. Would like some flexibility re moving out time. Had a lovely time

Loved the location. Lovely to wake up to the sheep coming to visit. Kitchen utensils/facilities brill. Could have done with some more blankets and shower upstairs unusable for adults. Some repairs to the potholes on the driveway would also have been appreciated. Local eggs down the lane were tasty. Also the walks in the reserve lovely. Very friendly people.
