The WiFi never worked, the tumble dryer didn’t work. There were no baking trays so we couldn’t use the oven or grill. No bin liners. I would have expected a welcome pack as in previous cheaper properties

location to many places perfect, cottage was very nice although the sitting room was quite dark , black carpets did not help to lighten the room. We had to report that the tumble dryer was not working and was advised that it would be sorted out the following day, however this did not happen at all during the week. Broad band connection was not working at all.

Lovely open plan kitchen/diner/conservatory with good quality fittings etc. Good view of river Severn from bedroom & patio at end of garden. Enjoyed hot tub when weather permitted. White Hart nearby v good food & allowed dogs in bar area. Good for peace & quiet which we wanted but Broadoak is only a Hamlet & you need a car to get around. Beautiful scenery & interesting places to visit eg Gloucester, Cheltenham, Ross on Wye, Chepstow & Monmouth. Disappointed Wifi didn't work (router) as one of reasons chose this property. However Wifi available in pub!

very quiet and relaxing. lovely friendly neighbourhood. we needed to add one or two small but basic items to the kitchen ( eg baking trays), but this didnt diflect from our enjoyment. Kids were frustrated about the lack of WiFi as the cottage had been specifically booked with this facility so not as advertised. We will definately book again, when the wifi is re-instated.

Fabulous position beside the river and loved watching the seven bore. Some of the kitchen equipment is a little tired and could do with replacing e.g. Set of knives with loose and broken handles, pan lids with broken handles in lids. The biggest issue for us was lack of wifi which we overcame by purchasing our own BT fon which suggests there is reception but the house router wasn't working. A message to the owner received no reply! Loved the hot tub.

Lovely cottage and secure for the dog, owner very friendly and didn't intrude on our privacy at all. My only criticism would be that it could do with some replacement kitchen equipment. Overall a lovely holiday. WiFi was not a problem as had been quoted by other visitors.

After reading some of the reviews about the cottage I felt a little apprehensive about staying. I needn't have been worried. The cottage was lovely. We found the beds very comfy, the kitchen had all the utensils you might need & it was nice & clean. It was lovely to sit in the conservatory of an evening & look at all the little birds that visit the garden & at dusk watch the acrobatics of a couple of bats. The hot tub was lovely & fantastically placed overlooking the river. Steve the owner popped in everyday to check the chemicals in the hot tub, if it was ever inconvenient he would leave it until the next day. We ate at the White Hart Inn a couple of times & the food was lovely. They will accept a dog if you eat in the bar area, which was just as pleasant as the restaurant. Overall we had a great time & would recommend the cottage to our friends & family.

Absolutely loved the cottage, had everything we needed and more! Beautiful views, would love to come again on one condition.......new mattress in all rooms! Both doubles were far too soft resulting in lower back ache and the singles you could feel every spring! Ruined what was almost a 5star holiday

This is our second stay in Rose Tree Cottage and we love it. The hot tub makes it special and also the secure garden for our dogs. The sun room is delightful to relax in. The cottage is very well equipped. We were lucky enough to see a Severn bore this time. We shall definitely return for a third visit. The internet connection is pretty poor but we managed - it wasn't a major problem. Oh and nice, friendly neighbours too!

This property was described as luxurious, it had the potential to be so but was let down by poor upkeep and cleanliness. In order to use the shower we had to descale the shower head and unblock the plug hole. Before eating we had to rewash most of the utensils many of which were broken. The Hoover had a broken hose so we were unable to use it without resorting to getting on our hands and knees. When we arrived there was no wifi. This was not resolved until the day before we left. Dog owners be careful, the garden is not secure, our medium sized dogs made it through the hedge within minutes of arrival. There was no welcome pack or information about the cottage or local area nor was there a visitors book. Without a phone signal or wifi this meant even finding the local shop was difficult. The hot tub was lovely and well maintained but sadly this alone did not offset the many negatives of this property. We contacted the owner the day we arrived about the wifi and got one response to this. On the second day we contacted them to express our other concerns and we still have not had any response to this. Overall very poor value for money and very disappointing. We would definitely not return or recommend.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, we have recently had an inspection from our Regional Manager and everything has been addressed and she was quite happy with the property. Regarding the Wi-Fi, the property is in a rural area and can be intermittent at times. Also the garden is fenced all the way round however; even very small dogs can get out towards the river.
