Enjoyable even though weather poor. Shame about the disagreeable neighbour. White Hart pub very good. Very good location for watching the Severn bore and other sites.

A lovely, well equip cottage. Cosey evening in front of the wood burner. awesome hot tub which was big and held its heat well. Beds were very comfortable. Excellent pub just a two minute walk away

Although the owners knew the week previous, they did not have the courtesy to inform us that the heating and hot water would not be working up to standard. So had to constantly press reset button and wait for hot water/heating. Not great for February time. The mornings were freezing! Was glad I read about certain kitchen utensils not being there as took my own. The beds were biggest let down as they got so uncomfortable we got bad backs. The hot tub also stopped working whilst we were there and although the owner checked it once I'd told him he didn't have the courtesy to say if it had been fixed or not. Really bad communication. Had the cottage booked til Friday but left on the Monday.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments on your stay at Rose Tree Cottage. We were aware of the problem with the heating, it was cutting out intermittently but was certainly not completely broken and we did arrange for a plumber to visit the property on the Monday to rectify the problem. We did also assist you with the hot tub, it appeared that you had adjusted the settings but after we corrected this we understood that the hot tub was functioning properly. The kitchen is fully equipped and we always do our best to replace any faulty / missing items. Regarding the beds, we appreciate that comfort is subjective but we are planning on replacing the two single beds at the property soon.

A delightful house. My family 2 adults and 2 children and a baby went with another couple for a week. Great accommodation and owner were incredibly helpful Note all the leaflets for the area are in the coffee table in the conservatory and the hob is induction. Only gave 9 because of the hob and I had not realised and as a seasoned self caterer I always bring along my favourite cooking pan which I couldn't use and not really enough pans for the hob including no frying pan

Our 2nd Christmas here, we loved it - the log burner, the hot tub, the spacious kitchen area. The owner Steve is very friendly and on hand although not intrusive. the only thing missing is baking trays, but luckily I'd remembered from last time and took some disposable ones. We love this cottage and will try to come back in the warm summer to make the most of the lovely garden and views.

We had a lovely holiday at Rose Tree cottage, I was slightly concerned prior to going due to some of the reviews, however we found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable for a weeks stay. The hot tub was fantastic and had great views over the river Severn, it was serviced every day and was kept very clean. There were loads of towels in each room on arrival, the bedding was clean and fresh, the bath room could have done with a bath mat, but this was not an issue. A couple of improvements that could be made and have been mentioned previously- the cottage does not have any oven trays, a normal sized frying pan, normal kitchen utensils such a peeler/masher etc, it's odd because they have clearly tried to make the cottage as comfortable as possible with picnic baskets, baking scales, and what looked like 8 cake stands, but is missing the real kitchen essentials, if this was improved, I would have rated a 10 as it was annoying having to buy these items for a weeks stay. I also agree with the previous comment regarding the smell of the hoover. Other than these minor issues, we had a lovely week and visited some lovely places not too far away (Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stratford, Monmouth, Ross etc) I would stay again.

Lovely location, sun room and hot tub area are superb. Great base for seeing forest of Dean. Neighbours were quite noisy, but hey that didn't put us off having a relaxing break.

Very comfortable stay. Owners are lovely and easily contactable. The hot tub is a great touch and always checked and kept clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and the house over all is clean and well laid out.
