Fabulous cottage, we loved the period features - the beams, furniture and the range in the kitchen. It had everything we could possibly need, and more! We really appreciated the special biscuits, tea and milk after our 7 hour drive from Norfolk. It has a beautiful garden which we loved to relax in every evening after our challenging hill walks. The four poster bed was gorgeous and the room was really spacious with generous wardrobe space. The lounge was really cosy and we loved having an open fire whilst relaxing on those sumptuous sofas. The huge bath was lovely and the shower room was great too. Lovely walks from the door and we really enjoyed The Outgate Inn; everyone was really friendly and we loved the food. The second bedroom wasn't quite as comfortable, a smaller room with no wardrobe space and not as comfy beds.

There were 3 minor problems: 1. We could not find instructions for the oven/grill so were not able to use them. 2. The basin in the bathroom drained very slowly which indicated a minor blockage. 3. The hot water was only moderately hot. Not important points except that we could not work out how to use the oven.

Nice area and cottage. The only drawbacks were the steep stone stairs in the cottage and difficult acces to the garage; my car was in the pub car park all week.

A beautiful little 'roses round the door ' cottage . Very well equipped with good quality linens , crocks etc . The garden was a joy ,beautifully managed and private . The pub let us down , we had booked for a Sunday roast only to be told on arrival they had sold out ! All in all a good stay our only criticism was the sofa and chairs were a bit grubby and didn't smell too fresh x
