Welsh Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

Sit back and relax with a glass of wine in your very own private hot tub whilst taking in the views of the sublime Welsh countryside.

Lying peacefully on the banks of the glistening River Teifi within extensive grounds and on a 91-acre working farm, these traditional, Welsh barn conversions (refs JUK, JUL, OAM and OFA) have been converted to a very good standard and offer a perfect base for a family or couples looking to explore the dramatic coastline and rugged mountains of west Wales. Conveniently located just 2 miles away from the charming, market town of Cardigan, Rosehill Farm is situated well off the beaten track and is surrounded by rolling terrain where horses, goats and lambs call home. On the approach to the farm, guests will be greeted with spectacular views of the River Teifi, which is famously renowned for its freshwater salmon and trout fishing, and superb water based activities including kayaking and sailing. Each cottage has been sympathetically restored to uncover much of its original charm and character, including exposed beams and stone walls. Outside, guests can relax on their own private patio area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day’s adventure whilst watching the red kites and peregrine falcons soar over the magnificent scenery.
Close to the iconic Pembrokeshire National Park, guests can ramble the majestic Preseli Hills and discover picturesque walks and ancient monuments, including the Bronze Age burial chamber of Pentre Ifan Dolmen, which stands beautifully in rugged terrain. The nearby market towns of Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen are all rich with Welsh culture and offer a selection of traditional pubs, boutique and antique gift shops, along with some restaurants waiting to be explored. The magnificent coastline is just a short drive away and is home to golden beaches, horseshoe coves and the pretty coastal towns of Newport, New Quay and Aberaeron, which are set in tranquil fishing harbours where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day. For an interesting day out, take a scenic drive to Britain’s smallest city of St David’s and discover its 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops’s Palace, or take a sea safari around the off-shore island of Ramsey, cruising close to seabirds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Shops and pub 2 miles.

Galleried open-plan modern fitted kitchen/dining room with steps down to living room with doors to patio and river views. Conservatory. Double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. First floor (sloping ceilings throughout): Three spacious bedrooms; one double and two twin, one with extra 2ft 6in bed (for +1). Bathroom with toilet.

Good accommodation for large group. We were 7. Could sleep 9 comfortably. New Jacuzzi Spa pool is a lovely bonus but would benefit from outside lighting to ensure safety when getting to it. TV good. Well equiped kitchen let down by basic essentials missing. Cuttlery was sparse or broken. We had to share forks or use a child's Peppa Pig fork if everyone wanted to eat together. Need a car as no local shop or ammenaties. There was no welcome pack - not even a pint of milk, and only half a toilet roll which we think may have been left by previous occupants. Upon arrival, the owners had flowers in the property for a photo shoot, but immediately took them away when the photogropher had finished. We did not feel welcomed, infact, attitudes of the person who met us gave a distinct impression that we were an inconvenience, especially as she seemed more interested in the photo shoot. There are major Health and Safety issues including smoke alarms not working and out of date fire extinguishers. There is also no fire guard for fire. Bathroom heater not working. Additional costs not mentioned on the booking site includes £25 per dog - with strict instructions to thoroughly clean the property and remove all hairs. We cleaned up after our own dogs externally, only to find that the owner's dogs were fouling the area around the barn, never cleaned up. There is a log burning fire, but a barrow full of logs is charged at £10. The general area around the Teifi river and West Wales coast is beautiful and accessible by car.

Beautiful setting and very spacious with nice outdoor space. The barn could have done with some newer equipment in it, it needed some maintenance.

A last minute booking to spend time with our family who were also holidaying in the area. Lovely spacious cottage and beautifully located off the beaten track. A lovely setting for a family house party in the future. Very well equipped and the effective heating in the bedrooms welcomed as it was still pretty parky in West Wales. Very happy thank you and would easily recommend.

A lovely cottage though the advertised Wi-Fi was non existent which was a shame as there isn't much mobile signal in the area. Some essentials like dish washer tablets and washing machine detergent being available would have made life easier too. Nevertheless, we had a good time and the location was excellent to allow exploration of the surrounding area.
