Customers’ Choice Award 2016, 2017 & 2018
Stunning property, part of the Duchy of Lancaster estate, walking distance of Dunsop Bridge, Clitheroe market town close by.

Set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, (AONB), this detached holiday cottage has been lovingly converted with great attention to quality of fabrics and internal finishes, all co-ordinated by an interior designer to create a wonderfully ambient atmosphere. There’s no need to worry about amenities when you arrive as the owners provide the perfect welcome pack. On request and at cost, a meal cooked in the Puddleducks Tea Room can be ordered to eat in Puddleducks or to collect and take to your accommodation. Root Farm Cottage forms part of the stunning Whitewell Estate, which is owned by Her Majesty the Queen in her capacity as the Duke of Lancaster. The Queen last visited the estate in 2006 and it is known to be one of her favourite parts of the Duchy’s rural estates. The cottage lies within walking distance of Dunsop Bridge, which is regarded to be the geographic centre of the United Kingdom. An ideal location with walks direct from the door. There are quiet lanes for cyclists and challenging off-road terrain for the more adventurous. Wildlife abounds and a wide selection of birds can be observed. Clitheroe with its castle, 7 miles, enjoys a selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Shop 500 yards and pub 2 miles.

We've just enjoyed a fantastic relaxing New Year at Root Farm! Very comfortable, 1st class property. Lovely walks right on the doorstep. Puddleducks tea room had very tasty home cooked food & cakes! Just perfect!

A fabulous cottage, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need has been catered for. It is fairly remote but just what we wanted for a peaceful holiday. The area is stunning and just a few miles away are super eating places.

This was an amazing find. From the moment we turned into the drive way, our hearts started to melt. Then we met with Alison, who went through everything and made us feel special. I've never been to anywhere else that has given first class service. Then we met Tom who is wonderful as well, nothing was too much of an issue. The basket from puddle duck cafe was amazing and the bread it out of this work. Everyone around the area were lovely. There are plenty of walks and places to eat. There is plenty of information in the cottage. If you want any beauty treatments at the cottage, contact Alison before you visit and she will arrange. This again was an added extra. Local supermarkets will deliver to the cottage. We loved the fact there was plenty of board games to play. We love it so much we have already booked to return this year and next. Thank you
