Upon entering my wife and I were stunned at how picturesque the cottage was. All facilities we needed were available and appliances were easy to use. We had a welcome visitor in a friendly lurcher from next door who spent a dinner and breakfast with us. Fantastic location and very peaceful. Perfect for a short or extended break.

Although the cottage was very aesthetic to the eye it was quite a awkward to move around especially in the eves where the bedroom is due to the low ceilings. The shower is labelled as over the bath shower however it is a sit down shower due to the sloping celling which means you are unable to stand under it. Also the fact that the building adjoins the owners property by two doors which one is boarded and the other is just locked, makes it also uncomfortable as you can hear full conversations which I assume is both ways. There was no toilet roll on our arrival and no milk to make a drink which we have found when arriving at other properties. This would have been even more useful given the cottages remote location. The whole property could do with a more minimalistic approach as there are a lot of foreign type artefacts everywhere which are not to every ones' taste and would not be suitable for children. The cleanliness of the cottage needs to be of a much higher standard, especially if the owners are employing a cleaning company to undertake the task, as I believe they are doing, as we found a huge amount of cobwebs, spiders, dust , and would not have wished to cook using a rusty wok. The cottage overall is in a nice area but the issues above detract from this and unfortunately we would not use again.

Had an amazing time at Big Barn! Although we didnt get the chance to meet the owners, due to it only being a short stay, the contact was spot on and we were made to feel welcome in the cottage. 10/10, wish we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be back :)

A beautiful holiday cottage, very cosy yet spacious and the attention to detail in the building and decoration was outstanding. A very welcoming host, who appeared with a bottle of wine in hand on our first evening! I would highly recommend the Big Barn and hopefully will return there in the future.

Great location, vrry attractive kitchen and sitting room. Lots of character. Spacious garden. Limited space upstairs however, could be difficult for families with more than one child. Had to buy own toilet paper and soap. No instructions to work central heating. Not as much attention to detail as in other 4 star properties we have stayed in. Cottage needs some TLC here and there. Great location, pub was excellent.
