We fell in love with this cottage as soon as we opend the door. It is full of interesting objects we took our dog with us and were realy suprised that as well as the garden we also had the use of a large exercise field. Richard the owner has a lovely lurcher who paid us visits and happily played with our own dog. As for the area it there was so much to see and do you are spoilt for choice historical sites national trust steam railways shopping outlets sea side all within an hour or less. And when you get back the local pub is a short walk away that has excellent food. we will definatley return again as a week wasn't long enough.

Upon entering my wife and I were stunned at how picturesque the cottage was. All facilities we needed were available and appliances were easy to use. We had a welcome visitor in a friendly lurcher from next door who spent a dinner and breakfast with us. Fantastic location and very peaceful. Perfect for a short or extended break.

Although the cottage was very aesthetic to the eye it was quite a awkward to move around especially in the eves where the bedroom is due to the low ceilings. The shower is labelled as over the bath shower however it is a sit down shower due to the sloping celling which means you are unable to stand under it. Also the fact that the building adjoins the owners property by two doors which one is boarded and the other is just locked, makes it also uncomfortable as you can hear full conversations which I assume is both ways. There was no toilet roll on our arrival and no milk to make a drink which we have found when arriving at other properties. This would have been even more useful given the cottages remote location. The whole property could do with a more minimalistic approach as there are a lot of foreign type artefacts everywhere which are not to every ones' taste and would not be suitable for children. The cleanliness of the cottage needs to be of a much higher standard, especially if the owners are employing a cleaning company to undertake the task, as I believe they are doing, as we found a huge amount of cobwebs, spiders, dust , and would not have wished to cook using a rusty wok. The cottage overall is in a nice area but the issues above detract from this and unfortunately we would not use again.
