A sympathetically restored former Wainhouse which retains many original features. Plenty of attractions within a short drive.

The Wainhouse is situated in the owner’s grounds on a working farm, in the village of Bockleton, near to the historic market town of Tenbury Wells. It has been sympathetically converted, retaining many original features. This is an excellent base from which to explore Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire with a wealth of activities. A short drive takes you to Ludlow, famous for its castle, festivals, quaint streets, shops and open markets; it also has an abundance of restaurants and eateries for fine dining, some Michelin starred, and it is a definite must for a visit. The area boasts an abundance of National Trust properties including Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Hampton Court Gardens and the Brockhampton Estate, all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day out to the cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester and the abbey at Tewkesbury. For the more active there is golf, horse riding and carp fishing available locally. Offa’s Dyke and the Malvern Hills, for serious walkers, are within easy reach. Book lovers can enjoy a trip to the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye whilst theatre lovers can venture out to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the home of Anne Hathaway with her beautiful cottage. Perhaps you would prefer to sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the unspoilt countryside and woodlands close by, or observe the activities on this working farm. Whatever you choose to do, one holiday may not be enough! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

Very friendly and welcoming owners, cottage situated in a peaceful rural location on a working farm, with beautiful surrounding countryside, and perfectly suited for a family holiday.

Lovely location and good for our family but the basics were a little 'tired' and needs a bit of a makeover Beds were quite 'wobbly' and generally just needed a bit of a refresh overall Nice people and setting

We had a extremely enjoyable holiday at the wainhouse. Ideal for family of 10 in the 5 bedrooms. Spacious open living and dining area.

The Wainhouse was comfortable, spacious, well-equipped and ideal for our 3 generation family of 6 adults and 4 children. The children particularly enjoyed the small playground (swing, slide, and especially the enclosed trampoline) across the drive, and also the small enclosed flat garden which was good for ball games. Over the week we enjoyed observing farm life - herding of cattle, active, friendly dogs and tractors at work, and ducks on the pond. We went for walks along the quiet lane past bluebells in the woods and cowslips on the common to see the nearby goats, lambs, pigs, horses.

We had a great time in this lovely converted barn. Very rural location but not too far away from local amenities. Owners very friendly and helpful and grandchildren enjoyed seeing the lambs - even one being born! Although there were six adults and five children under seven staying, The Wainhouse was spacious enough not to feel crowded and there was plenty of good quality cooking equipment. The enclosed garden was great for kicking a ball around without fear of children getting in the way of tractors etc. Altogether a good choice for us and we would not hesitate to go back.

We rented this property for a three generation family holiday over a February half term. It was pretty much ideal for our purposes - the open plan ground floor meant that we could all be together while engaged in different activities. We knew it was a rural location on a working farm and enjoyed being able to feed the ducks with the toddlers and introduce them to sheep, cows and dogs. The layout of the bedrooms and living space was perfect for us but the ground floor bedroom and bathroom were hard to heat in a cold week in February. The property is very well laid out with ample bathrooms, an entrance cum boot room plus patio doors. Having two entrances and outside keys was really helpful when we wanted to go out for the day and return at different times.

Very clean (although some of the towels provided smelt musty). Great for large groups as open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. Nicely decorated rooms. £15 additional fee for heating for two nights seems very expensive though.
