Description

This cottage is close to many outdoor activities, including watersports, fishing and cycling on the Crab and Winkle Way.

Close to the beach, restaurants, quirky shops and art galleries is this stylishly renovated end of terrace holiday cottage with the added bonus of an attractive, enclosed, paved garden; ideal for summer barbecues. It also boasts a wood-burning stove in the living room where you can curl up and relax after a brisk walk down by the harbour in the winter. Try out the watersports on offer including sailing and surfing, take up fishing and don’t forget to sample the local oysters for which Whitstable is renowned. It is also good cycling territory - try The Crab and Winkle Way, experience at first hand the glorious Whitstable sunsets and gaze across The Swale, where time appears to stand still and offers an ideal opportunity to recharge your batteries. Once you have explored the local artists community, daily fish market and tiny lanes previously frequented by smugglers, the historic town of Canterbury, with its breathtaking cathedral and boat trips on the River Stour is well worth a visit. great place to stay and rooms are fantastic only downside is wobbly dining room table so be prepared to eat off your laps!!!!! handy location with regards shops and sea front..can see car parking being an issue during busy season

A lovely cottage 5 minutes from the sea. There was everything we could have wanted for our toddler who loved the bike, the toys and books and the garden. The cottage was well appointed and very clean and tidy. We would definitely stay there again and Whitstable is a fabulous little town.

Lovely cottage - all amenities you could want. Walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants, supermarket etc etc. Plenty to do in surrounding areas and towns. Harbour is lovely for a stroll, and market at weekends. If there was a down side it was the parking, expensive to park in car park if you didnt find a place in one of the roads nearby - which proved impossible at the weekend. Nevertheless had a great holiday.

Fab cottage and perfect for what we wanted. Lovely inside and outside space, finished to a very high standard and brilliantly well equipped. A real home from home. Only very small complaints would be that car parking was tricky at times (to be fair it was August so we would expect this) and although there was one stairgate, with 2 flights of stairs, a few others would be good. However, these are only tiny points, compared to how many positives there are with the property.

Some info missing ( House Book never found) and other info needed updating online etc(Name of new Housekeeper & her number) Difficulty of opening Key safe ( for older persons), and not finding the boiler thermostat where it was supposed to be ie & I quote" on the table" (led to very cold evening& night on day of arrival) However beautiful, tastefully presented house, with special appeal for those who appreciate art in that it held virtually a gallery of pictures with a Whitstable theme. Also, bursting with technology, some of which was beyond my capability ie DAB radios; & so I didn't meddle ;( but that was my fault)...... but I missed my background BBC! TV was familiar so that was OK. Good Holiday & have already recommended house to others & will continue to.
