The photos on the web-site really don't do Rockcliffe justice. Spacious and well appointed accommodation. Easy walk into Whitby along the road beside the river and then on to the path beside the railway line. Easier walk (200m) to the pub!

We really loved the cottage, the only thing we wish it had was a king size bed , as my husband , is tall, and his feet touched the end of the bed boarded, otherwise, we love staying in sleights ,

The house itself felt clean and the additional 2nd lounge would be great for young children to play in and spread around. The beds were comfy, the view from the back garden is just stunning. There are 3 gripes about the house; the shower was like a trickle and would take an age to wash the shampoo from hair. The 2nd was although they had Sky, there was no wifi so couldn't access any extra channels. Would've been helpful if there was a list of what channels did movies, cartoons, home style, etc, as we don't have Sky at home, it was all a little new. The 3rd was the garden. It was in 3 layersand the decking was slippy and the one step down was broken/rotten bent badly. Dogs couldn't particulary run around in the garden because of the layers and it isn't as big as I though from the photos on the website. Now, although the house was lovely, Sleights itself was somewhere we didn't enjoy as finding dog walks was non existant - seems silly as surrounded by fields, but I could only find 2 public paths and they were both not nice. I wouldn't stay in Sleights again with dogs. Nice fish and chip shop 5 mins walk, lovely food at the Plough up the road, little antique place and a bus stop all 5 min walk from the house. A shop about 15+ mins down a hill but all on a busy main through road.

Very good if you have dogs. Fully enclosed garden. Decking needs repairing. General good amenities. Shower was weak but there is a bath as well. Local pub is good provides good pub food and is only a few minutes walk away. Good location for a quick drive to whitby and local beaches

Really enjoyed our stay. A light and airy cottage with wonderful view. Freedom in garden for dogs. Stairs bit steep for older folks, but know you can't do anything about that. Great shower but not a lot of room in there. Not complaining, just making a point. Wouldn't stop me going again.
